Attack of The Show = End of The Screensavers?

So Im plopped in front of non-cable TV for the holiday weekend. I decide to catch up on all the channels I don’t get elsewhere. You know the good ones.

Apparently G4 is holding nothing back in totally killing Tech TV outright. I knew about the Merger, I knew Leo and Pat took the golden parachute. I was fine with that, and G4 was growing on me.

I turn in today to see heavy advertising for some program called “Attack of the Show” ((You could’nt create a crappier name if you tried)). It has all of the old time Hosts of TSS ((I hope you guys see the sarcasm here). I got to the Website to get more info. The Shows page does NOTHING to describe ATOS. However it strangely Links to TSS.

My god please Tell me G4 did not just shoot themselves in the foot, and Kill TSS.
CFH was one thing… but TSS is something all together different.

Is TSS headed to the TV channel in the sky, to join its ill fated brethen?

It died with the G4 retooling, IMHO. I haven’t been able to watch it for the longest time, though I do still tune in for a few moments to get my Sarah fix. [homersimpson] mmmmm…Saraaaah. …mmmmmm[/homersimpson]

I really liked it when it was ZDTV, and it was Leo Laporte and Kate Botello. No Kate, no interest.

Yes, this new crap is replacing TSS. I got the final show notes the other day.

The “merger” was just a powerplay by Comcast to get G4 onto more cable systems. The funny thing is, shows that were drawing decent ratings for TechTV are now either gone or so bad that G4 regularly gets ratings too low to actually measure.

Leo’s doing “Call for Help” for G4TechTv Canada, which is apparently not affiliated with the US G4. Patrick is freelancing as a writer (mainly for Ziff-Davis magazines), Martin Sargent is working on trying to bring “Unscrewed” to a new network, Yoshi’s writing a book, and Kevin Rose is looking for a way to kill himself or get off G4 along with Sarah.

Did I hear somewhere along the the lines that MSN is trying to get a new Tech Channel?

And to think, I got to meet Leo and Pat in late 2003, on a Digital Digs road show. (And won the 04 Almanac… and got them to autograph it)

I doubt Leo can give them away now.

Once Leo and Pat left I quit watching. It’s a shame - this was a “must see” show for me.

i remember hearing rumors about this a few months ago… this, the loss of the techtv in the name… now if the drift racing show starts everything i heard before will have came to pass… i miss tv for geeks.

That’s when I really enjoyed it, even for the first couple of replacement hosts after Kate left. But I flipped thru recently and the show was not even close.

And I could have sworn I saw “Speed Racer” listed as a show on that channel. Well, forget that.

Yeah… I caught an hour of G4 (Even Dish Network has changed the channel name on the info screen) today… I kept seeing ads for the hour of car shows… and I was like, “What is MTV doing advertising on g4?” and then after I saw it for the 4th or 5th time… I began to figure it out.
