There is a much easier way than that :). Try SETI Team. It adds the results for you, compares them to other days and predicts future results. And the numbers it uses aren’t updated twice a day or less, like the “official” ones, but real time.
Fricking finally. I had three units done and they still hadn’t sent me an e-mail, so I had to download the program all over again with a different e-mail address and they sent the e-mail there. I guess they just don’t like hotmail. I have now officially joined the Straight Dopers, and should be pumping out 2 units a day minimum.
Sorry you had trouble, Asylum; welcome aboard.
As of December 21, our official total is now 20,880.
Sigh. Okay, let me swallow my pride and say I am impressed. Very nice, well done. I would not have thought it do-able.
/kowtows (with 48409 original Cecilian units.)
BTW, Demo has raced up the AFCA group list, due to his second quickest per unit computing time.
Happy Holidays to you all!
So, as of 0822 PST 22 Dec 2002, we’re unofficially at 21,021 (the official team page hasn’t updated yet and still shows 20,935)
Looks like we’ll easily break through the 22K mark shortly - probably before Christmas.
Can we make 25K by 31 Dec??
(TVGuy now calculates how much longer before his slightly faster average return rate is able to eclipse MEBuckner and move him up to number four … BWAAA HAAA HAAAAA!)
Second? Whatchoo talkin’ about Willis?
I am SOOO close…but I don’t think I’ll be over taking Arcturis any time soon.
I really have to see about installing this on the other P4’s in the office…
I’ve just pulled the stats and we’re at 21,056 units! Whooo Hooo!
22,212 units projected for the end of the year!
I’ve got a family Christmas party to attend, so I’ll post the new chart later tonight or in the morning.
Keep up the good work.
Ugly
Ok, time again for the weekly update. I pulled these numbers today at about 2:00 MST (GMT-7), using the SETI Team program.
Once again, we have several new members this week, and with their added contributions we processed 915 units this last week, for a current total of 21056 units. We are smokin’!
Several of the new members this week posted in this thread what their total was at the time they joined, and I plugged those numbers in for the beginning count to get a better estimate of the units per week processed. I had to guess on a couple, but I think the year-end projection of 22212 units is pretty close based on the current member list.
So once again you guys have already gone past my challenge of 21k and most likely we’ll get to 22k and change. So, come on, let’s see 23!
Also, since I used the SETI Team program the last two weeks, it gives the change in standing for overall units processed since the last time. So I added that column to the table. It shows a positive number for those who moved up a rank, a negative number for those who slipped down, NC for those who didn’t change, and New for the members new this week.
And it looks like most everyone slipped down a notch or two (I was 10th two weeks ago, 17th today) but mostly because some of our new members plugged in close to the top. Since this is a team effort, every unit counts toward the total, so we won’t complain, will we? (Freakin’ 17th! I’ve got to have a faster processor around here somewhere. Dang upstarts.)
These are the standings as of 2:00 pm MST, shown in order of total units:

And these are the standings shown in order or units processed during the week. Some of us who are newer and don’t have a huge number of total units show a bit higher on this list because we are cranking out more units per day.

So there it is. Everyone keep it up! (Good advice for many situations)
Ugly
It just seems cruel, that I would go directly from twelfth to fourteenth. Numeristically speaking, that is.
Triskadecamus, the . . . the14[sup]th[/sup]
…with my almost 1200 units
Just added my 976 units.
Tell me about it. I’ve added 250+ units since joining, worked my way up to 10th place, and now I’m at 17. Oh well, it’s all good for the cause, so I won’t bitch (much ).
And welcome aboard Qixotica! Your approx 1200 units is greatly appreciated by all, even if it will drop me yet another notch.
And if anyone is looking, the chart showing the status as of yesterday shows up (for me, at least, and I’m using the defaults for how much to display) at the bottom of the previous page of this thread.
Welcome Jonas, I didn’t see your post until after I submitted mine. Didn’t want you to think I was ignoring you.
Ok, with Quix and Jonas, we have 23368 showing on SETI Team right now. We may make 25k yet.
I’ve had to back out. I’d forgotten just how much a constant load on my CPU makes my laptop overheat.
COOL!! (Even though I dropped from 5th to 7th with the addition of the two new folks )
As of 2135 PST, 23 DEC, my SETITeam future prediciton for 31 December shows us at 24713 - less than 300 units from 25K. I bet we can do it.
(of course, I played PowerBall too, so that’ll tell you how much stock I put in “the odds”!)
What I meant was that your computing time was the second fastest of the AFCA group, and so you’re zooming up the ranks…except I forgot to rewrite what I had written out to clarify it, and to add something else which I have forgotten what that was and the next thing I knew, I had somehow posted…I think my parakeet must have landed on my mouse. Yeaaaahhhh, that’s it, my parakeet posted.
Ahem: *Only 1505 units to go to hit **50,000 *AFCA/Cecilian Units. Thank you for your attention.
Ah! I get it! Sorry, I’m a dummy!
In other news, I just got my Sun box working the command line client.
Agent Demo, on the job.
I am now running the command line client as a service on another P4 2.2G.
Time to start raking them in!
