Attraction: who's your type, who's not

Some variations of this. Lighter on the nerdy, with a healthy dose of MANLY-man.

Well, my first priority is apartment hunting, but that probably still leaves my evenings free.

I have a thing for buxom redheads, or raven-haired tattooed suicide girls. Glasses and dresses feminine but not barbie girl. I like really pale girls too, and in the Pacific Northwest we all turn fish belly white.

I like self confident, intelligent and most of all imaginative women, not what your thinking but its a plus.

I like a woman who you can discuss books with, and then travel to the other side of the world to somewhere off of the tourist trail.

Yes, looks are important, but I’ve had relationships with incredibly good looking airheads in the past and it soon becomes boring.

It was great goimg into a place knowing that every man in there envied you but it didn’t make up for the lack of mutual interests.

I generally like men who have the ‘tall, dark, and handsome’ thing going on, though my boyfriend is pale like me. Like most of the guys I’ve been attracted to, he’s very thin. When it comes to women, I have a pretty serious thing for redheads. Florence “and the Machine” Welch is pretty much perfection.

But it’s definitely more about personality and bearing than anything else. What makes me really attracted to someone is a sense of humor; an air that makes people comfortable to be around them, both by seeming comfortable themselves and also by being kind and open; and a strong intellectual curiosity and love of thinking and learning. Bonus points if they’re into the same kinds of music as me and/or are a musician!

What turns me off: bad hygiene. Sense of humor that revolves around demeaning jokes or “ironic” racism, riling people up (RL trolling), or mocking other people. Being really high-strung or high-maintenance, getting upset if things don’t go exactly the way you planned them. Entitlement. People who like ‘Insane Clown Posse’.

Female, fertile, at least moderately intelligent, and at least moderately educated. Tall is good; not fat is better.

I knew a guy who used to say his type was “recognizably female and warm some time in the last 30 minutes.” I immediately noticed that neither he nor you, for that matter, said anything about human. Haven’t seen or spoken to him in decades.
