It’s easy to avoid the expressways if you want. Come out of Buffalo on 5 (Main St) or 33 (Genesee or Walden) or 20 (Broadway) - whichever is more convenient for where you are in Buffalo. Head east until you intersect 98 around Batavia. Take 98 north up through Albion and that intersects 104 (Ridge Road). Then take 104 east into Rochester and that will bring you right to the restaurant.

This is probably a stupid question, but never having attended a Dopefest, and not knowing anyone by sight, is there some way I will recognize everyone other than just asking people, “Is this the doper group?”
Someone should reserve a table in the name of Cecil Adams, and then when a newb comes in they can be directed to the table.
I don’t usually reserve a table in advance but I’m often the first to arrive. I tell the host at the door that I’m expecting a group of people to arrive, probably one-by-one, and ask if anyone like that has already shown up. If not, I get a table started and tell them to direct anyone who shows up asking for a group from now on to our table.
