Austin Dopefest-who's on board?

Hotel reservation confirmed; see y’all tomorrow!

damn, damn, double damn!! mr. malita decided it was a good weekend for camping we are taking off tonight. Hate to miss the 'fest, but off into the wilderness we go.

…sniff, sniff… :frowning:

Don’t worry, malita, there will be other Batdopes.

Just a reminder-the table will be under “Adams.”

I’ll be there with my hat and jingly things on my belt.

And one more call to y’all within range. Today’s the day!

Putting on my boots…

And I’m out the door. See ya.

Sheesh, I guess I oughta get movin’, too.

I’m awake I’m awake.

GOD I can’t believe I’m awaka before noon when I don’t have to go into the lab. Then I wake up with an inbox about this stupid flu outbreak from china.

I … just found out a friend died. I’ll be attending a memorial for him. Sorry

GTN honors its own

I was really looking forward to this, but I woke up this morning with a bad stomachache and it doesn’t look like it’s gonna fade. So, I’ll have to wait for another batdope. :frowning:

Although, I’d rather this than CRorex’s reason… I’m very sorry to hear that, CRorex. hugs

yeah… Tell me about it. Damnit Paul WHY

So, anyone see any bats?

No bats, but we did have a good time. It was good to see Ringo, TheNerd and TheNerd’s Girlfriend again, as well as meet ScoobyTX and Hugh Jass.

It was great to see everyone. And I got a good dose of SXSW, too - it’s not everyday that I get to listen to four live bands at once.

It was good to see some new people at the Dope this time around, and I have to say, I had a good time at the Cabaret. Fionn and I get together with some friends on a regular basis for Drink Night, and lately, we’ve been going to the more “Seedier” dives. We’ll definitely have to head back there sometime. As much fun as it was, I have to admit, hanging out with Ringo for any extended period of time makes me feel like my life has been such a waste! I can’t believe how BORING I am. I think it’s about time I just burned down my apartment, that should kick things off well.
I had a good time, and I’ll see you all again in a few months (when the bats are out).

Well, I’d very much like to meet you folks down South but it would sure have added a little spice to have attended SXSW. Damn, I need to go to that festival …

Very envious, glad you had a good time …

Ringo, where did you end up that night? I was turned away from my first 3 choices, but ended up seeing a good bluegrass band (The Old Crow Medicine Show) that was marred only by an incompetant sound guy.

Scooby, I’m not sure I could begin to tell you names of bars or bands. They were mostly on Sixth Street. There were a couple of bands that played short sets in a place called something like Langham’s (I know that’s not right), a blues band at Joe’s Generic Bar (with the bar code for a sign), a freebie on Red River just off Sixth and a rather pitiful folkie finale in the club on the top floor of the Crowne Plaza.

When I got back to my room, what was coming up from the street (I was on the top room floor of the Crowne Plaza) was plenty strong enough to dance to. So I did.

Geez, Red, I enjoy my visits with you - I certainly don’t want to make you feel like burning down your apartment. I’ve logged a few more years on the planet, most of them rather tranquil; don’t worry, pal, you’ll add to your story list (and I think you’ve got some pretty good ones already - “Y’all have any drums?”).

Good to see you, too, Fionn. Last weekend was about the 4th or 5th time we’ve met and, this is emphatically not a flirt, you seem to be a truly nice person, I like you and look forward to chewin’ the fat and shootin’ the breeze once again.

And Hugh, I enjoyed meeting you, please stay with us.
