I never made it to the mall, but we did make it to the sporting goods store. Mr. Taters bought some new tennis shoes to replace his old shoes, and we bought a frisbee and a lawn game.
We had lots of fun at our friend’s house last night. I had to drive us home because Mr. Taters was in no shape to drive.
Howdy Moonie!
We’re going to grill today. I need to run to the store to get the fixings for potato salad and maybe a little more meat too.
I’m a little tired, though. We didn’t get home until 1:30 and I was up at 7:00. I could lie down and sleep some more, but I’ve got some chores that need doing around the house.
So, I was typing up my sad story and somebody’s bluetooth was trying to pair with my phone and messed me up. Anyways, craft show is not going well. For some reason they put me with the carnival game aisle instead of the craft people and we have 75 percent less traffic over here. I am not amused.
Happy 4th, everyone!
I’m home and eating pastry. We went to a wedding this morning, and the reception’s this evening, so we’re chilling until then. Colleen’s wedding, Muppet. There’ll be pics up in a minute, and I made my dress for it out of the gray fabric you swapped me. Here we go. I hope.
Aerin is currently driving Mr. Lissar nuts. He’s eating jerky. She’s staaaaaaarrrrvvvvinnggg. She’s not in our good books. She’s wrecked a lot of stuff by peeing on it recently. No jerky.
Back from the marina. We have a long to-do list for the boat. Didn’t go out, tho.
Came home to a call from Florida. FIL had a seizure or stroke this morning and he’s back in the hospital. **FCD **is ready to head down there, either just in case, or to help out his mom, because his brothers really don’t do well under stress. So we shall see… FIL is well enough to say he wants to go home, but they’ve got him in the cardiac area. All good thoughts appreciated.
I expect the rest of today will be wasted. We’re not going to any fireworks displays - they stopped being fun for me years ago, and then there’s the traffic. We had a good lunch, so supper will probably just be grazing.
Scruffy is on The List. She was standing in the middle of the family room, on the CLEAN carpet, making horking sounds, I scooted her into the kitchen on the tile floor, and she stopped. Then she walked back in to the family room and horked up some yellow mess. Lucky for me, I hadn’t put the shampooer away…
MOOOOOOM prayers and good thoughts headed out to FIL. I can understand FCD’s wantin’ to be there.
Just popped in to say, feastin’ is about to commence. We got ribs, bbq (homemade, even!), brunswick stew (again, homemade even!) N.O.T. sallit, slaw, baked beans, homemade rolls and for dessert, that classic of all 'Murrkin Fourth of July desserts, ice cold watermelon! I may eat myself into a stupor.
Also, an executive decision has been made. No church tomorrow.
That’s right. I am not makin’ up a bunch of chicken sallit sammiches to take to work. Instead, bein’ as tomorrow will be my only day off this week, I have decreed tomorrow to be pool time and chicken sallit sammiches to munch on. JDD and partner are stayin’ over tonight and the four of us are gonna be slugs at the pool durin’ the day tomorrow. It’s supposed to be sunny and hawt, aka perfect weather for pool sluggin’.
We went to our bar and had bbq for lunch, then I came home and took a nap.
I’m about to throw some chicken legs and sausage on the grill, and I’ve made cole slaw already. Ranch Style Beans and fresh corn-on-the-cob will round out the meal. No dessert - I’m slacking.
FCM - I hear ya about going back to work on Monday. Boo and hiss. We should have been born rich, dammit…
Since us MMP seasoned citizens are having various in-law medical problems, I’ll join the club. My MiL fell in her foyer and has appaently broken her wrist. No more details at the moment. VunderKind is on the scene…
MiL update: She’s headed to the OR to have her fracture set. I have no knowledge of the extent of the work necessary. VunderKind has been sent home from the horsepistol to do domestic chores, so my direct info line has been cut off.
Still more MiL: seems the OR trip is 8 AM tomorrow. Getting good info out of my SiL is like pulling teeth long distance. :dubious:
Fishin’ planned for tomorrow AM. Services at St. Bluegill’s. The bad news is my fishin’ departure time is also the projected start of a day of thunderstorms. And I’ll have to feed the damned horse before I go.
No time, no time, no time! So busy, so much to see and do… I’ll take next week’s MMP, if this week’s is claimed. Gives me more time to write anyway. I’ve been prewriting the post and dear god I am a verbose little bastard - at the rate I’m going I’m gonna hit the 20,000 character limit…
TWICE.
This may be the single longest post in SDMB history. And I fully intend to post all the pics I’ll be taking, assuming I can find a site that’ll free-host several gigs worth of material.
Gotta go crop and fix photos. Write up a summary of today’s events. Plan for tomorrow, even though tomorrow will likely consist of a photographic blitzkrieg of the Dealer’s Room and Artist’s Alley. Many of those pics will uh, likely NOT be making it to the MMP though; a lot of the dealers are so NSFW it’s not even funny.
So, anyone know where I can host anywhere from 400 to 800 pictures (depending on how many pics I get from my friends) for free?
If I ever get to the US again I’m inviting me own self down to Jawja so I can sample swampie’s cooking. I’ll do the salad, ok?
I use google for my pics, Moonie. Type picasaweb.google.com in your addres bar, it gets turned to something else but works. You can use picasa (a program from google) to organize and upload the photos, or upload and then organize (slower). Of course, you need a google account.
Up early - big surprise, huh? Scruffy let me know she just *HAD *to go out, and after going thru their routine, I was too awake to go back to bed. Besides, since I have to go back to work tomorrow, I may as well be up now so the transition won’t be too bad. Back to work… <sob>
**FCD **is still abed. I’m guessing he decided not to drive down to Ocala. He talked to his dad last night, then called his mom. So we shall see what happens.
It was supposed to rain overnight, but didn’t. I looked at the weather radar, and there’s still a big mass of wet, but it may pass just south of us. Rats. I was hoping for a nice shower. Then again, the neighbor kids didn’t set the woods on fire last night, so maybe we don’t need rain.
