My message boards have a nice little message that comes up if you try to post the same message twice, which means no duplicate posts:
"You have already posted a message to this discussion which:
Was posted within the last two minutes
Was posted by you
Was the same as the message you entered before
You probably hit the button twice.
Click here to continue."
Any chance of implementing this gem here? Im using UBB board-free.
So, what you’re saying, handy, is that you want the already-overtaxed server to do something else for you which you could do more easily and reliably yourself. Sounds like a plan.
There’s already a one-minute “stutter guard”, if I’m not mistaken.
And I believe there was also a thread saying that exact duplicates were ignored, even after a minute.
Hmm… I suppose now I’ll have to try it.
