Not to brag or anything, but my desktop computer upstairs, that I built myself, is older than that, and still faster than any of the new machines Wifey has purchased since. My secret? I installed a clean version of Win 7 without any retailers’ bloatware and I installed a solid state main drive. I have a stack of old IDE drives which I use for peripheral and/or backup drives, but C: has always been a SSD.
We just last night got caught up on the latest season of Death in Paradise. We like it!

I went to Tar-jay to pick up a prescription (why, oh why can’t they manage to bring them all up at the same time?) and wome more tiger balm patches, came home, prepped breakfasts and lunches for the week, walked Nelson (at this point, I’m beginning to sound like I’m living doggio’s life) and am chilling with some supper. I’s tahred.
There was some noise last week about me heading back to China in the next three weeks, my first job (1985 - 1997), I would go to Taiwan, Hong Kong and the area around Hong Kong at least once a year and sometimes twice, at my second job (1997 - 2007), I would go to at least twice a year and sometimes three, different places, mostly Shanghai…just got an e-mail from my boss that we need to expedite a visa, so that’s on my plate tomorrow, the client is paying for it all, I already told them that I fly business class at a minimum, and if they had a problem with that, it’ll be first class…they were fine with that…
So, kinda excited, I loved visiting China, but still a little nervous…I finally got a job where I don’t have to travel very much, so totally out of practice…always wanted to take Mrs. White but she never wanted to go…
Supper was good. Dishwasher is washing, **FCD **is under his desk doing some installation stuff. Our housemates are taking a walk with their baby and their dog.
Roxy is becoming very vocal of late. I don’t know if she’s trying to communicate or she’s just testing her vocal cords. She also sticks out her tongue, and I’m pretty sure she learned that from her grandpa. But bestest of all - whenever she comes to me, she smiles and shows her dimples!
And my weekend is winding down. I meant to vacuum my car, but I kinda didn’t get around to it. I may break down and pay to have it cleaned inside and out. If nothing else, it’ll guarantee rain.
