Howdy. I made potato salad cause I had potatoes. I boiled a bunch of eggs. We are taking a cooler with sandwich makings and potato salad and boiled eggs. The track keeps moving east and if that is the case in the morning we may just stay home. I did all the laundry including hubby’s wallet. He was not happy. My living room is full of a/c equipment and a stove. I have all the pets food in the car and a suitcase almost finished being packed.

The kids made it through Day 1 of the school year. 'Beamette got placed in Algebra instead of regular 8th grade math. Hee, hee. She refuses to contemplate her own smarts, that one. 'Beamer was upset to find that the school did not implement the anti-bullying plan that they agreed to, but we are working on it. He accepted the news surprisingly well. Hubby was grumpy all day. It turned out to be one of those days where I felt like I deserved some sort of gold star by the end of it.
I’m off to take Pepper Pup for a last walk around the block. Hoping for rain tonight. We’ve got a lot of forest fires up and down the state and we could really use some moisture.
I’m looking at the NOAAs predictions and the betting money for the current threat is east coast of Florida.
Beloved Brother, now with the addition of our mother, is near Jville.
I wouldn’t trade places with him right now for Jeff Bezos-style money. For more reasons than just the storm. 
Went for a walk in the park today. Saw a very young raccoon wandering around. When it saw me it started chattering and following me rather excitedly. Didn’t know if was rabid or looking for a handout, but I was having none of it. Then I realized the adjacent property being excavated probably orphaned the poor thing.
Also, I tried on the pants I bought for the first time today since the weather was chillier but found out that they don’t fit at all and I misplaced the receipts. They were all clearance, and together cost less than any alone did new, but I’m still pretty dejected. Oh well, at least I’m not that raccoon.
This is my new life philosophy!! Thanks for the early morning giggle!
I’ve been trying to figure out how to beg my daughter not to give my grandbaby a stupid name or a name with a stupid spelling. Not that I think she’ll do that, but you never know. Her new last name is Green - she wouldn’t call her kid Emerald, would she?? :eek:
I woke stupid early - like shortly after 3 - and I couldn’t fall back to sleep. Methinks this will be a long day. Then I come in to 2 emails with lots of work, including several drawings that are kinda urgent. I may come in tomorrow morning after all.
But first, I have to make it thru today… Happy Thursday. Send chocolate!!!

AT&T came in and installed their internet, which also comes with a new hole drilled in my house and some new cabling, but it does seem a bit faster. Phone is still a problem, I can’t get anyone to take responsibility for ‘porting’ my number from my original service provider over to AT&T. The AT&T store guys said the tech person would do it, the tech person said no, the sales department would do it, and when I reached them they acted like they had no idea what I was requesting. Will try my luck today with them, and if I don’t get anywhere I may become…grumpy.
Weather is perfect, 70’s and sunny. Warms up next week and no idea how much, if any, effect Harvey is going to have on the weather (hopefully not much, but glad I don’t live on the East coast right now).
