Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 88 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. The big plan is mowage of OYKW’s and da cave yahds. With it bein’ coolish and also dry out that shouldn’t be too unpleasant. Other than that no big plans. Even dindin will be easy as it’s leftovers.
I have no idea yet what Irma may have in store for us. We could get lots of rain. Or not. We shall see.
Now I need more caffeine an to feed rumbly tummy. Then, when it’s daylight enough Ima go to OYKW’s place to mow. Fun times.
Thank you, all.
I went to a concert last night. In the audience was one of my favourite musicians, and I talked to him afterward. He gave me a hug for my birthday!
Morning all. Dishes in the dishwasher and a load of laundry in the wash cycle with another on deck. That’s about as ambitious as I’m going to get this morning.
Well we have decided to stay in the Keys. Looks like KW may not be a bad place to be. Seriously, hubby has keys to a concrete three story house that we have always joked would be a fortress. He has been there this morning to stock it with water and food. It has a generator. We will stay home and head there in the am. Our generator works too and it runs on propane which we have a huge tank full. No where in Florida or Georgia is safe at this point. There is limited fuel and no hotel rooms. I almost left in the middle of the night but hubs would not go so I stayed too. We have a friend/colleague who is joining us with her two cats. We have another male friend who is alone and he will join us. There are literally thousands of people staying throughout the Keys. My niece stayed in Marathon about 25 miles up the road and is even opening her restaurant to feed emergency workers.
I have made peace with this decision. I have prayed about it and so be it. I will update as I can. Storm is not gonna hit here til tomorrow.
Butters I’ll be sending out good thoughts for you. Send word when you can. {{{hugs}}}
I’m up and working on getting the kids off to school. Last night we had a severe thunderstorm warning. First one of those I’ve had since I left Missouri. Felt like old times. The rain has cleared up the air for now, and it’s nice to see the sky again.
I need to do some laundry and make some phone calls. Saturday I’ll do fambily things and Sunday I’m off to CA for another rounds of medkal stuff for my haid.
Butters, hope your decision is the right one, sounds like you and hubby have a plan, may everything work out well. Stay in touch if you can. we’ll be thinking about you.
I did my 4 hours of work this morning, then came home and took **FCD **to Cracker Barrel for lunch. In a text conversation with our daughter, she referred to the baby as a tadpole, so **FCD **is now calling our grandbaby Kermit. I’m married to a comedian.
Daughter and SIL are in Ocala with her grandparents. We’re thinking about what we may need to do depending on what the storm does to them. It will be a fret-filled weekend. Dammit.
Butters, as long as the house has good shutters or some other way to secure the windows, you should do fine. Back when my Mom lived in Ft. Walton Beach, she had to evacuate for some hurricane or other, and spent all day in her car trying to get somewhere. She would have probably been safer staying at home. Just sayin.
Mom When I was in high school I met a guy named Billy Pigg. He was a karate instructor.
I think you grand baby should be named after one of my favorite TV actors, DeForest Kelly.
Howdy Y’all! Home from the nursin’ home and a visit with Miss Becky. It was a spur of the moment thing and I’m so glad I did cause she was so happy to see me. She was in a chipper and talkative (for her) mood which made for a nice visit. I wheeled her down to the dinin’ room for bingo just before I left and told her goodbye there. She likes bingo so I wanted to make sure she went to play.
Traffic is wild northbound. Well, wild for around here. No gridlock or such but a steady stream of cars, trucks, suvs, and rvs headed north. Dawson is north of da cave so I was in that goin’ up. Comin’ back south was a breeze. Even all the hotel rooms in Ye Olde Home Towne are full and not because of a home Auburn football game. Auburn is forty miles from there and a lot of people stay there when Auburn is home. Matter of fact most of the visitin’ teams stay in Ye Olde Home Towne. Don’t know if there’s a game there tomorrow or not but my sources say the people there are mostly Flarduh evacuees.
