Bad, bad, bad weather for Arkansans (and surrounding states)

Yes. We are fine. High winds, lots of rain. Now 40 degrees colder.

The National Guard was blowing stuff up yesterday. We thought it was thunder.

We regularly hear distant thunder on clear days here in the central Sierra Nevada range. How distant? A neighbor checked timings and determined the source to be a US Army munitions depot 100+ miles across the mountains.

The last time I heard a thunderous boom a truck carrying fertilizer blew up some 15 miles from my house (as the crow flies)
I live in a log house and I swear the logs rattled. It made my ears feel funny and my knees got wiggly. Left a huge crater on the road.

Another day in the 60s. .9" yesterday. A fresh batch of T-storms predicted today. No serious storm alerts other than flash flood watches.

Ya think?

This is my first winter in Edmonton, AB. This morning, we woke up to a temperature of -38F . I grew up in Texas- this is alien to me.

I heard of a fellow who tired of North Dakota winters. He tied a snowblower to his car roof and drove south. He figured when people would point at it and ask, “What’s that?” then he’d gone far enough.

Ha! That’s a good one.

It was foggy as hell last night here (Dallas) like I mean, that deep dense muffling blanket. Probably a bunch of car accidents, too.

I’m supposed to move to Michigan next week … and I hear they’re getting some big storm this weekend?
Fuck me!
