I find Twix’s behavour and attitude reprehensible. Still, it’s her call. But saying that she doesn’t date men in committed relationships and calling this one not one is self serving.

If Maria really is a crazy stalker trying to drive away the other women in his (non-committed sex) life so she can have him all to herself, this will end her relationship with him for sure. Even crazy stalker bitches know that. No, Maria’s original email was level. As was her follow up that she wouldn’t contact** Twix** again. Guy gets caught cheating and lies to cover his cheating, yeah that’s never happened before.

In my personal experience, it’s five life-destroying psycho-exes (one male, four female) and two blatant liars for the sake of sex on the side (one each male and female–and I was one of her victims, as an aside.) My personal experience suggests the conventional wisdom on the relative proportions here is bull.

The “should be shot” bit is just a rhetorical device that has been used for a couple hundred years. “Put 'em up against a wall” has a very specific, but these days, a highly rhetorical meaning. And, has been mostly ignored since long before the French Revolution in seventeen sumptiadda sumptin. I’m actually using wording from Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” album, but “Up Against a Wall” has been being used since LOOONG before I was born. It’s just a freakin’ standard rhetorical device that goes back a couple of hundred years. Sorry if someone reading this is “educationally deficient”, and so doesn’t get my classical references. “GEESH…!!!” If I really wanted to kill someone, they would not have had been given the option to object. I would have just terminated the “idjit”. Some people REALLY need to read basic history.

Find a different rhetorical device. I know you don’t expect people to send essays and that you’re not going to find and shoot anybody. That’s not the point. The point is that this style of address is not allowed here. (I don’t think they would tolerate it in the Pit either, but I leave it to the mods there to decide.)
Our main rule here is “Don’t be a jerk.” Calling people idiots and saying you’d like to shoot them is being a jerk whether you couch it as a “rhetorical device” or not.
