@Elendil_s_Heir , I read “The Man Without A Country” when I was a kid and never forgot it. In the internet era, it was great to find it online. I very much agree that it’s undeservedly obscure.

"The Man Without a Country" is a short story by American writer Edward Everett Hale, first published in The Atlantic in December 1863.
