Actually, Senator Durbin is running for re-election. I was proud to vote for him last week along with Obama/Biden.

They’re watching power slip out of their hands. They’re watching as the whole country is about to turn their backs on the right-wing ideology of hate and lies. They’re trying to come to grips with the fact that Sarah Palin will not be Vice President (and then President). It’d all be very cheerful to watch their agony if not for Obama’s grandmother dying.

In my defense, I did recognize that as humor, unfortunately it eluded me. Or maybe that would be fortunately. Can I impose on someone to explain it to a poor slow soul?
McCain blamed his negative campaigning on the fact that Obama wouldn’t do a series of Town Hall meetings with him, therefore blaming Obama himself for McCain being sleezy. Yes, it was as surreally stupid as everything else McCain has done in this election.
McCain blamed the negative campaigning against Obama as a result of the latter not accepting the former’s invitations for town-hall debates earlier in the campaign. Sort of “You didn’t invite me to your birthday party so I slashed your tires”-esque.
Rest in peace, you fine woman. I wish you never had to hear all the horrible names people pinned to your grandson.
On the upside, she passed believing her grandson would be President, suppose the election turns into another 2000 style clusterfuck, with lawsuits, etc. By passing now, she’s been spared the suffering that would have come from that.
Sad news. So sorry she couldn’t have seen the outcome. My heart goes out to the Obamas.
Sad, but she’d be proud of Obama no matter what the result tomorrow.
