moonunit - I don’t think anyone here deliberately ignores anyone, but when all I have to comment is “That’s cool” or some such, I generally don’t bother, and since everyone here aspires to be just like me, I’m sure it’s become the thing to do.
Who, me? Ego??
**Becks **- congrats on living. Always a good choice.
**FCD **just left with Higgs. I’ll be waking Roxy soon - she’s been down 2 anna half hours, and I’d like to get her outside while the weather’s nice. Then I’ll figure out supper. I’m getting tired of leftovers, but I need to empty the fridge of little plastic boxes. What to do, what to do…
Well, I know I endeavour to be just like you FCM, it’s my dream to be “nice, dammit”
Mr.Wrekker absconded to the Lakehouse. I have no plans for anything this evening. At the moment I’m trying to get the Siamese to come down from the beams and visit. They never like me after the clinic visit. I have a new wrap on my upper arm and I think that’s the issue. If I break out the ‘goodist evah’ liver treats they would forget their boycott of me. Hmmmm?
Dropped my son off at school and got my scripts.
I was hoping to get one of the parking spots in front of the school again, then I just sit and wait for him.
It is beautiful outside, I should have been out there with the dogs instead of futzing around in here.
Finally got ahold of Friend1, she fixed her phone so I’m not blocked anymore. She sounds a whole lot better.
Haven’t talked with Friend2 in weeks. I’ve called a few times, so the ball is in her court.
I should be cleaning house since I’m having company tomorrow, but I’m not feeling it. The baseboards and beadboard in the kitchen needs a good scrubbing, as does the wall going up the stairs.
Not ignoring you Moon Unit, but I guess you can’t see me nod through the computer.
Happy Presidents Day! Or should that be Good Presidents Day? Yes, I like that better. Wishing you good presidents…better presidents. Whatever.
I’m about to escape this noise (holiday–guys upstairs are off work and celebrating with loud music, probably by Dead Presidents. I’m taking baby gifts to the PO. Here’s my new baby gift hint: get something nice for the baby and a pizza gift card for the happy parents. One night when they’re too frazzled to cook, they can order pizza delivery. First-time parents think it’s a bit odd at first, but later, they’re very grateful.
So happy to see the news from OW! Never count a good ruble down.
Moon Unit, we may have had the same mother. Mine could spot a Clearance sign from the next store over.
Becks, glad you’re gonna live to see another corn dog.
Wikki, congrats! Such happy news!
gotti, you tell that heart to just simmer down.
Sari, ow. Those suckers do hurt, plus they’re inconvenient.
Yikes. They cranked up the volume even louder. I’m outta here.
I don’t use a scale. I figure if I don’t collapse into a singularity, my weight is OK. Currently drinking a martini, while Gordie is dreaming on my foot.
:):):):):):):):)
 hope they get that fixed quick.
Congrats! flinging confetti with wild abandon looks at mess grumbles vacuums confetti with wild abandon
You’re not invisible, MoonUnit. And try cornbread with diced country ham and cheddar. It rocks(one of my go to tailgate foods).
bleh, my life is the toilet that runneth over … between the moving crap … trying ot get grub hum to give me the money back from last week… my great aunt passed on this morning … so aunt and immediate family is making all the preparations which isnt too hard as great aunt had it all set up years ago aunt is just making sure her specifications get followed …
But its just going ot make things more irritable around here …
I had no idea that cornbread and bacon was a secret…
I also make shrimp and grits.
ETA: Sorry to hear about your great-aunt Shady. My condolences.
metal mouse, I’m looking forward to introducing you to a MoBurger. I made a last minute decision to go to the concert too, since there were still tickets available and I’d be in the city.
Congratulations on the new grandbaby wiki!
emily, you reminded me of the scales outside of the dime store and in the court house basement when I was a kid that you’d drop a nickel in to weigh yourself and get a little slip with your fortune. I’d long forgotten about them.
moon unit, I like reading your posts. Speaking of which, is Kiko a dog or a cat?
sunny, I’ve always loved the Chieftains too, hence my deciding to go to the concert. I’ve seen them live before, but it’s been a long time.
nellie, the pizza gift card is a good idea. I may have to incorporate that.
doggio, add some diced chilis to that cornbread sometime. You can thank me later.
Yay for the good news about ruble!
I don’t own a scale. Like wiki, they weigh me at my three month checkup. Besides, I have no place for it in the bathroom that wouldn’t be a trip hazard or block a door.
Irk was putting out some fires, but I should be ready for a day off Thursday (I don’t bounce back after a night out like I used to. ). I managed to get a jump and set up some stuff that I can do between sales orders tomorrow. Tonight, I’m just gonna chill after KP though.
Howdy Y’all! Home from men’s night over to the church house. Actually been home for a while but just now tellin’ y’all I’m home. ‘Twas a good time as usual. We discussed plans for the two fish fries we will do church wide durin’ Lent. Friday fish fries and Lent do go well together. We did one last year after havin’ not done one for a couple of years and it was a hit.
{{{Gotti}}} hope the heart issue gets figured out soonest.
MoonUnit we don’t ignore, I promise. Sometimes stuff might get overlooked, but ignored never.
Soooooo happy about the news with Ruble. Even did my happy white gay boy dance. Look at your own risk. Brain bleach not included.
{{Shady}}, my condolences, but being a great-aunt she must have lived a long life.
Red, looking forward to meeting you and a Mo Burger.
moon unit, nobody is ignoring you, but remember you’re still the ‘new kid’ here and we’re still ‘learning’ you…I was there 2 years ago. Just join in and keep posting, you’re part of our group now.
Nappage turned to sleepage and I was out for about 2.5 hours this afternoon. Tomorrow is picking up my new office chair at Staples and putting out stuff for Purple Heart (my go-to donation place, they come around to pickup stuff about every 6 weeks). Dinner has been consumed.
All y’all take care now.
ETA: swampy, you know I just had to look–what has been seen cannot be unseen…
I do not own a scale as I usually don’t care about weight. I can use one at the gym but never know how accurate they are. A couple of years ago when I was just starting to come back from injury I took a shower at the gym at irk. There was a scale in the shower area so I got on it, wearing just the towel I was going to shower in, which was not one of those humongous fluffy beach towels. A few hours later I got on the scale in the PT’s orifice. That scale had me weighing less fully clothed than the one where I was wearing just a smallish towel. :smack:
Plans changed at least four times over the wickend, including us staying at her friend’s Verminty cabin on Sat evening. When we pull up, her husband was out on the deck shoveling (as they just got there a few hours earlier themselves); because he had been outside, he hadn’t been informed that we were coming. He’s seen my car once & only met me once or twice, in another state. We got the best ‘Who the eff is pulling all the way in our driveway look’ until she leaned down so she could be seen thru my window.
It’s a three-story abode with the main heat source being a wood burning stove on the main (second) story. Of course, heat rises. There is some supplemental electric baseboard heat on the bottom level where our bedroom was. It was cool but not cold. We were told that someone needs to get up at 3-4am to add another log into the stove to keep the house warm all night. I was awakened around 3:30am by the sound of chattering teeth. My chattering teeth! She got up & went upstairs & added a log to the stove & I said I was going to go sleep on the sofa up there but was informed that the kids never made it to their bedrooms & were asleep there. As I hadn’t been on the top floor, I wasn’t risking going up there & turning into the wrong bedroom. I should have gone into the living room & flipped the top back on the hot tub & climbed in there. Seriously, their (parents/family) 5 (or 6?) bedroom cabin in the woods has an indoor hot tub!
Did not race yesterday & did drive a snowmobile, but only about 30’ down the driveway to get it out of the way. Somehow the stoopit GPS decided to add No Tolls & No Highways to the route home. By the time I realized that, I was only able to salvage about 15 mins of the extra hour+ that those ‘preferences’ gave us.
I spoke to the O_W on Sat eve; glad the secret’s out now.
Today’s adventure was interesting. The nice folk at Cinnabon were giving away cold brewed coffee, so I decided to take them up on it. Of course, this means a road trip, since the Maul with the location is 60 miles away. The good news is that Maul also has one of the handful of Arby’s in the state, so the trip was a two-fer.
Of course, the Maul was laded with screaming meemies, ankle biters, pajama mamma’s, and more nare-do-wells than normal. Leaving the food court, I had to detour around a Maul Cop, who was standing over a diaper on the floor, calling it in on his radio.
I wonder if that qualified as a Code 2 in the food court?
Willie was good and his son Lukas is really talented too. The venue is a new waterfront park with a capacity of only 4000. There were only a couple hundred chairs and the rest was standing or bring your own chair. We had actual chairs and great seats. There was lots of food and drink to be had and portable potties. We parked at my friends condo and took a cab. I am so glad we went. It was nice to actually do something besides care take and sit in a hospital. Hubs did good but I think he was a little tired by the time we got home.
I don’t know if I mentioned it or not but I’m getting a new car tomorrow. It is a Ford Fusion which is way bigger than my Toyota. It is 8K$ off sticker price because it is a 2019 and I guess the 20’s are out. It is new with only 33 miles on it. I will pay less for this one than the Toyota. We are keeping the Toyota for hubs to use when he doesn’t want to drive his huge service truck. Kind of excited about this. I am going to put a large down payment and finance the rest at 0%. I could just buy it outright but no reason to with zero interest.
**Butters **- glad you have some good news for a change! SIL has a Fusion, but he’s not the most meticulous owner. It’s like driving in a trash can, but other than that, it seems like a nice car.
I need to remember NOT to have caffeinated beverages after noon. I had a couple of glasses of Diet Coke at lunch yesterday, so I was still buzzing around midnight. Dammit. And I woke at 5. Dammit. Luckily SIL is off today, so he’ll wrangle Roxy most of the time. I did run to Food Lion last night for the couple of things I needed (milk, bread, and eggs, but there’s no blizzard!! ) so no need to go anywhere today if I don’t want to. I don’t think I want to.
I own bathroom scales, I do not currently care to go anywhere near them. I know when my weight fluctuates because of how my clothes fit, right now they are telling me that I’ve been slacking for too long and now it’s time to do something about it. Thus there will be a Plan To Do Something About It which will hopefully be stuck to…
We’ve just spent a long weekend in Antwerp just for the hell of it, further damage done by too much beer and rich food…it was fun but four days of that kind of life is enough! We did a fair bit of walking around though, so it wasn’t all sloth Got home late last night, and was up at 6am for work.
I’m back at mum’s flat tomorrow as the gas man cometh, followed by the electrician and handyman, the charity shop furniture collection people, and the council lady for a pre-termination inspection before we can end the lease and hand back the keys. Busy day, and allegedly my brother plans to come too…most likely he’ll turn up when all the work’s done.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 61 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 76 with A.M. fog and P.M. clouds and maybe some rain. Laundry must be laundered and sump’n figured out for sup. Don’t know if that will involve cookin’ or goin’ out yet. We’re all willy-nilly about that.
{{{Shades}}} so sorry about your great aunt.
Butters yay for new wheelz and havin’ a great time seein’ Willie! Y’all needed that.
BooFae that sounds like a lot to get done in one day! Hope brother shows up and actually does stuff this time.
MetalMouse that image shall forever haunt you.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
It’s looks like it’s going to rain, don’t know though, I left my phone upstairs so I can’t see the weather for today.
I have company coming this morning, so I’m straightening things up a bit this morning before heading back upstairs for a shower.
It does no good to pick up the dog toys, Echo pulls everything right back out of the basket and spreads them around the room. According to her, toys belong on the floor, not in the basket. She’s not content to leave them in the living room anymore either, they are left on the stairs, in the hallway, in my bedroom, and even in the bed.
You think legos are bad, try stepping on a half chewed cow hoof in your bare feet.
{{{Shady}}}
Glad you enjoyed the show, and congrats on new car, Butters.
You make my head hurt BooFae. Too much scheduling for one day.
