Bathroom scales are worthless in the MMP

Morning all. Got the three bags of stuff for Purple Heart outside with a sign. Normally I put them down near the sidewalk, but it’s raining out so I left them near the garage where there is a dry area under the eaves. Need to go get the new office chair and move some more book boxes for unloading, but first a Big Bowl O’Cheerios. 57F now heading for 63F, but rainy and complete cloud cover all day. Spring is needed soon.

Boo Fae, haven’t been to Antwerp yet in my travels, maybe one day. And Sari, you telling someone else they do too much scheduling of stuff…

Take care all.

Company has come and gone.
Echo hasn’t stopped crying since they left.
Both of mine were so happy to see Jax and his mom. Ripple is usually standoffish, but he was all over my friend.
Adam was not amused, and if looks could kill, I’d be dead right now.

Going to eat some lunch, even though my belly hurts and nothing sounds good.

We feed the cats one-quarter of a 5.5 ounce can of gooshy food each in the evenings. Sunday, Tonka threw his up shortly after eating. We decided to cut their rations last night (1/8 can each), thinking Tonka may have eaten too quickly. He threw up again. He’s about 16 years old. Maybe 17. He behaves normally, and doesn’t appear to be in any distress. He just didn’t hold down his wet food the last couple of nights. He still eats his kibble.

Goo was due for a vaccination booster on Saturday, but I’d misplaced the notification card until Sunday. Monday I tried to call for an appointment to get her in, but they were closed for the holiday. I tried to call to make an appointment for both cats this morning, but their message said they’re closed until Thursday. :frowning:

I spent the morning with a large beast snoring on my foot. But the bathroom is now clean, and I need beer and eggs.

Ran to the credit union, then dropped off a bunch of clothes from our closet purge. SIL is putting Roxy down for her nap. **FCD **is napping, too. I think I’ll gather yarn scraps and see if it’s enough to make anything.

Good Tuesday folks.

Thank you all for reassuring me that I am family here in the MMP. Feeling a lot better. I guess I am sensitive.

Johnny IANAVet, but you may try giving Tonka some unsweetened yogurt. Soft on the tummy and some flora.

Not much going on here. The housekeeper is here. She makes my life so much easier. She has been helping me for two years. And has become family.

I did get an appointment to have my thumb looked at. It is the same thumb that was operated on for ostiomylitis. I am hoping it is not a repeat.

Butters. A small venue to see Willie would be the cat’s meow.

Luego troops.

Howdy all. Donations have been picked up by Purple Heart and new chair is comfy and reclining properly, so all is right with the world IMHO. Still need to move and put books away, but I’ll do that in a couple of hours or so, during my 3-hour TV binge (1.5 hours of MAS*H, 0.5 hours of Pardon the Interruption (ESPN) and 1.0 hours of Air Disasters). Rain is still coming down and looks to continue the rest of the day, so inside is a good place to be.

moon unit, hope the thumb checks out ok.

Sari, glad the dogs are happy and Adam will get over it…hope your belly feels better.

swampy, I once had to get up and belly dance at a hotel in Egypt…nothing is likely to phase me after that.

All y’all take care.

Had a lazy morning. Looks like a lazy afternoon looming.
I feel like I could run a marathon. But, nah. I like lazy.
Big Wrek took venison steak out of the feezer. I assume he means for me to cook it later. He left before I got back in the house from dog walkies.

DIL and family are over their virus. I told her not to bring the kids yet. They warned me repeatedly at the clinic about not catching anything.
My PICC line was fixed up. My arm feels almost normal. My glucose numbers are good. Appetite is good. I want corndogs:(

Butters, happy you had a good time with Willie.

Raining again. :smack:

Alien - that’s a heck of a journey for a coffee and a Cinnabon.

Butters - congrats on the new car and glad y’all had a good time with Willie. That’s sounds weird, but you get my drift.

Spidey - I hope at least some fun was had. It sounds like the weekend was stressful.

BooFae - I’m glad you were able to get away. I hope the day goes smoothly.

Flyboy - keep an eye on Tonka. Vomiting can be a sign of kidney failure. Make sure he has lots of water (access to it, anyway), and try withholding food for a day to let his stomach settle. Things to watch for - lethargy, hiding, disinterest in food, vomiting several times despite an empty stomach. These days cats with kidney failure can have a good quality of life for quite a while, but he’ll need medical attention before it gets too bad. If he starts hiding, then he needs a vet ASAP.

metal mouse - your to-do list sounds like Mooommm’s these days.

doggio - skritches to your buddy.

Sari - Feel better. Did you make a decision about your computer? One thing to consider is that apparently you will be “forced” to use Windows 10. My dad just ended up migrating and it took him 2 weeks to get it all sorted.

moon unit - I hope your thumb quiets down. We try to acknowledge everything, but sometimes the list is moving quickly and it’s hard to keep track of who said what. Please know that we’re glad you’re here and we WILL notice if you’re not. Folks have been known to hunt folks down and ask after their well-being.

Speaking of which - has anyone heard from flytrap? I want to make sure he got the good news about ruble. I know he worried.
Let’s see. I don’t know if I mentioned that my team has decided that my brain lesions are the result of years of migraine and not symptoms of something like MS. This is good. I still live in constant pain and with restricted mobility, but we keep pursuing answers. As long as there’s something new to try, there’s a glimmer of hope. I do have to say that the transformation from someone who ran 5 miles a day, weight lifted, swam a mile at time, etc, to nearly bed ridden is hard to take. Ah well, enough whining.

Tonight I’m considering making a quiche (obligatory snerk).
Happy Tuesday everyone!
ETA: Glad you got the PICC line fixed up Beck and that your numbers are all doing well. I assume they’ve given all the flu and pneumonia shots? Also, can we have our rain back? I think we’re sliding right back into drought. :frowning:

Who?

Make us an offer.

There you are!
I offer you checks pocket 3 cents and this handy lint. :stuck_out_tongue:

Children in the street will proclaim your generosity.

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

I walked to the bank. The rest of my day so far has been spent trying to straighten out a mess with da jungle. I added an address to my address book there and didn’t pay enough attention, I guess. I couldn’t figure out why I didn’t get the three orders I’ve placed since then. Turns out they made the new address my default address, so this person got some unexpected “gifts.” :frowning:

Have to walk to the grocery store yet, and then the post office. I’m amazed my joint pain has been so much better lately.

MoonUnit, hope the thumb gets a thumbs-up from the docs.

Butters, Yay on wheels and Willie.

Becks, glad you’re feeling well today.

FCD’s dr called to say his test results were in. Actually, it was the radiographer’s report on his MRI, as we discovered when we picked it up. It appears to be written in English, but I suspect it’s doctorese. My sweetie is on his computer right now trying to decipher it all. We’ll see his orthopedist on Thurs to get what we expect to be bad news (more surgery.)

I put the chicken in the oven a bit later than I’d wanted to, plus it was still frozen at the core - I had to fight to get the bag o’guts out. I’m roasting it on a stand sorta like this but without a beer can. I’m hoping that with the bottom open, it’ll thaw, then roast the innard area. It’s smelling good already!

Sides will be baked sweet N.O.T., broccoli, and probably noodles.

Sunny, alas, or maybe thank the gods, that is the nearest Cinnabon–next nearest is two states to the west, in Indian country (no kidding…). The fact that there was an Arby’s there also sealed the deal, and it also got me out of the house before my wide fundement got stuck in the dialysis chair for four hours. At least it was a nice day for the road trip.

Howdy Y’all! Laundry got laundered and we decided to have a late N.O.L./early sup by goin’ for the geezer early bird discount at the [del]hog trough[/del] Golden Corral. ‘Tis warmish out but cloudy with rain movin’ in allegedly. Thus we are in for the eve. All in all a not too shabby day.

Supper was good. Now I need to dispose of the chicken drippin’s. I’m letting the pan sit to see if any of it congeals. I expect it’ll be triple bagged and tossed (gently) in the garbage.

There’s enough chicken left over for a nice chickie salad. For now, an evening of chillage.

Not really. Just required reorganization in the car whilst sitting in a gas station’s parking lot. Sat’s race was cxl’d so move Sunday’s event up to Sat, & then do the other race on Sun that we weren’t going to go to. Then she was talking to her friend early Sat & we were invited over. Their cabin is much further from the now-Sunday race but nicer than a hotel room (except for the middle of the night shivering) & the price was right, too. It also included dinner, a sofa to relax on, people to talk with, & a furry cuddle monster. The monkey wrenches were the cold on Sat (it would have been better to play with bang stick in Sunday’s warmer temps) & not feeling so well.
She says her cat is bulimic; regularly eats dry food & then almost regularly horks it up after a little bit. Of course if it’s horked onto the floor the dogs are extremely helpful in removal of hork. ::insert Yeech smiley::
Time to go deal with some daid cow.

Got my new car and boy is it nice. It has all kinds of cool stuff like blind spot monitor, lane departure, brake assist where it will stop itself if I am about to run into something. It has a great stereo with six speakers, a hidden keypad to unlock it, it shuts off at red lights and starts back up when ready to go. I don’t know that I like that function but I have the ability to shut that off. I am not even sure of the purpose other than fuel savings. It drives and rides great plus it is big enough for hubs to be comfy. It is a creamy white metallic color. I am thrilled with it. It also has six months of free Sirius radio. I doubt that I will renew it though.

Got home and took hubs out for his chance to drive it. Our fantastic neighbors cooked for us again and we both told them we appreciate it but not necessary. We had shrimp and grits. And corn.

I am already abed but it’s way too early for sleep so mayhap I will find something to watch on Netflix. I rented and watched Contagion yesterday and the similarities with the current outbreak of Covid19 are eerie. I hope it doesn’t become an epidemic here and hope it burns out over there. Scary stuff.

Back to irk today and it seemed like Moanday all day. I signed up a new vendor today and have a couple or three more to return calls to. We have a visiting director for two weeks. The last one was here for three weeks. They are just sending directors from all over the southeast region until someone is hired permanently. In a couple months it will be a year since the old new director was escorted off the installation and fired. Boy howdy time flies.

Sorry about Great Aunt Shady and Moon Unit you are not being ignored. Glad you are feeling better Beck. Sari my Buddy boy does the same thing with his toy basket. I pick them all up and in no time they are scattered all over the house again.

Happy new week.

W00t! on the new car butters. I’m glad you enjoyed the concert. I’d like to see him again before I retire (and y’all just know I’ll retire before he does :stuck_out_tongue: ).

sari, join the club with the toys on the floor. My apartment looks like a two and a half year old lives here. Well…he does, albeit he has four legs. :stuck_out_tongue:

{{{shady}}}

Mooooooooom, I’m jealous about the chicken drippings. I usually skim off the fat after it’s been refrigerated, then freeze the drippings with some chicken chunks for use in soup or casseroles. I also cook the bones down for broth to go in the freezer.

I irked today, putting out fires, but otherwise being very productive. I got a lot done and resolved a sales order issue (our outbound department sent a carton of the wrong thing to our Philippines plant) that didn’t require the folks upstairs to make any adjustments. I also resolved a vendor issue and brought attention to receiving process that needs to change. Tonight, it’s chilling in the studio.

My neighbor (the complex maintenance guy, Snoop the mastiff’s human) will check in on Nelson tomorrow evening while I’m out. Nelson knows and likes him and he has a key. I’ll walk him right after irk, but he’ll have to cuddle up with his emotional support raccoon most of the evening. Thursday, if it doesn’t rain, he’ll get some dog park time.
