Bathroom scales are worthless in the MMP

I do not believe you. I believe you can get a bathroom scale that is supposed to talk to your smartphone, but that’s a different thing altogether.

If I wanted a bathroom scale that does nothing but not talk to my phone, I’ll draw it on one of the tiles in the basement. On the other hand, if I buy another scale, it’s going to be one of those tall suckers with the balance beam and the sliding weights. I don’t believe for a minute that anything else is going to work right for long.

Color me jaded about smart new devices.

Evening all. Unpacked another 6-7 boxes of books, at this rate I should meet my goal of being done by the end of the month (not exactly a rush job). Managed to do without nappage today, so my sleep schedule for tomorrow should be in order.

Butters, glad the new car meets with your approval. And what’s the delay in hiring a new guy? I know the Gubmint can be slow at times (I worked for the DoD for 34 years), but I wonder if they have some other motive for these series of temps.

Red, be seeing ya’ tomorrow.

To any and all others, hugs, grins, thoughts and general positve waves to everyone.

Or any WiFi connected scale. I use a Withings.

And try to use it at the same time every day, e.g. first thing in the morning, or before dinner, or whenever you usually take a shower.

See ya tomorrow metal mouse!

We have one of those in the junk room at work. I have no idea where it came from.
110 pounds.

That’s all you weigh? ::kicks sand on Flytrap::

MetalMouse Apparently when they terminated the guy he had x number of days to appeal that decision and after that time was up they found that there was an error of some sort in the job announcement so it had to be advertised for longer until it closed. The investigations that led to the terminations lasted over 6 months. I really don’t know if they just didn’t find the right person yet or if they are dragging their feet for another reason. All our job announcements state right on them that this is a high cost of living area so that scares lots of applicants away.

I do know that all of this whole mess has been bad for morale and it really needs to get back to normal soon.

I don’t own a bathroom scale. I’m at the clinic enough to be weighed on a regular basis.
I hate it.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 61 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 70 with rain this afternoon, tonight, tomorrow, and tomorrow night. Also high temps will be in the 50s startin’ tomorrow. Weather be weird in these parts! This mornin’ I shall betake myself over to the church house to deal with trash. The new [del]church janitor[/del] Junior Warden is out of town (in Indiana, actually) dealin’ with her mother, so I told her I’d take care of stuff this week. She and her husband are both dealin’ with their mothers right now, and havin’ been through this with my own mother three years ago, they have my sympathy and empathy. Thus, I gladly do what I can locally when they have to go deal with issues related to their mothers. His mother lives in Iowa. Fortunately for both of ‘em they have sibs in the area where their mothers are, but still, I understand the need to go personally. OYKW will take care of procurin’ comestibles whilst I deal with that. We’ve decided we want shrimpies 'n grits for sup, so thus shall it be.

red and MetalMouse have fun at the Chieftan’s concert and please do try not to axe murder each other.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother of bothers I suppose I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Life can be so difficult!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Mel knocked me out last night, and I woke at 5 because he’s a slacker and won’t work longer than 8 hours… This morning, I meet with my money guy to move my 401k into a fund that (I hope) will grow enough to put Roxy thru college some day. I was going to put her in the state’s 529 plan, but Dave pointed out the advantages of doing it this way, and it makes sense. So be it.

I dreamed last night that I had to call Doug to change my work hours. Um, no, he’s not the boss of me any more! :stuck_out_tongue:

Speaking of horking cats, Taz decided my carpet has been clean long enough, so there’s now a spot in front of the fireplace. Higgs did clean up the solids. (ick!!) One thing for sure, once we replace this carpet (after the kids move out) it’s not going to be beige again. What were we thinking???

Onward into the soggy day - Happy Wednesday!!

Morning all. Rain has gone away for the day, but is due back tomorrow with the possibility of snow flurries. Oh joy.

Will leave my domicile about 3-3:30pm to head up to Opryland town, and swampy, I’m much too much a gentle soul to axe anybody.

Everybody get over hump day safely.

Happy Hump Day!

The sun is bright today, 36 feels like 28 degrees.
Supposed to get up to 46.
No daycare again this week.

It’s not even 8:30 yet and the dogs have been outside 3 times since 7. Very rambunctious this morning. I don’t know why they have to wrestle on top of my feet.

I will be happy when things can go back to normal around here.

Neighbors across the street moved out yesterday. Unfortunately, it was not the big-mouth buffoon and screeching banshee.

Have fun** Red** and MetalMouse.

Don’t know what I’m doing today. There is much that needs to be done, as always.

Mornin’ troops.

Butters I would love to be captain of one of those new-fangled space ships. Congratulations!

My thumb woke me up, It was beggin’ for an IB800 which I gladly gave it. It is better, now. May have to soak it in rum later.

Threatening to be 93F today.

I will drag my carrito to the animal feed store. And will pick up Kiko’s Mickey Mouse from the hospital. The dog loves that rat. But bit off his nose. There is a nice lady in town who does mending. Mickey moved in when I spotted him at a yard sale. And it was Kiko’s Xmas gift.

Please help the new kid out with an explanation of N.O. Which is sometimes followed by a consonant. Like N.O.T.

Not Our. There us a user nick named “Tater”. Someone (Swampy?) Was eating taters, “But not our Tater.”

N.O.T. = Not Our Taters, even tho she’s more absent than present of late.

N.O.T. = Not Our **Sunny **because if she was our weather, that would be weird.

N.O.L. = Not Our Lunch, who is a loooooooong absent Mumper who isn’t entirely forgotten.

Not sure if there are any others.

I’ll be heading out shortly to talk to my finances guy. If SIL isn’t awake in 15 minutes, I’ll sic Roxy on him!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Gordie, the Grand Pyrenees next door, and the small fluffy dog on the top floor have all spent the morning repelling assaults by The Invisible Mole People. It might snow tomorrow.

We wouldn’t want to eat him, it wouldn’t be Kosher.;):stuck_out_tongue:

Howdy Y’all! Church chores and the layin’ in of provisions have been accomplished and N.O.L. et. Doggio since he’s Jewish, he would be kosher. :stuck_out_tongue: Anywho, all is well in swampland. The sun is out, but still 'tis supposed to rain. :dubious:

JInxed myself in yesterday’s post, so joint pain is back. Suck it up, Nellie. This is nothing.

Gorgeous sunny day here.

Woman across the hall became a friend of mine a few years back, when we each moved in. She’s leaving this June. Another nearby friend left last fall. With noisy upstairs neighbors and increasing rent, not sure I can stay here but can’t afford moving costs. I miss the stability of home ownership, but I have no money for a down payment. Must rummage around and find thinking cap.

Swampy, shrimp and grits sounds delish.

Always love the pet reports. Next, next best thing to having one of my own again.

Happy Wednesday, all!

Have you been peeking in my kitchen? I spatchcocked a chicken on Monday and yesterday, I made chicken salad with the leftovers, taking advantage of the pre-diced packs of celery/onion that the local grocery prepares at their fruit deli. My “twists” so to speak are to use Kewpie mayo and homemade salt-free lemon & herb seasoning.

Meanwhile, my heart continues to cruise the Autobahn with a resting pulse rate of 136. My EP’s PA thinks poorly of this situation, so I’m going to their office today for another “real” EKG. I’ve got one of those little Kardia EKG devices that connects with my phone, but it’s not quite diagnostic quality.

Wait - the world doesn’t revolve around me?!:smiley:
Today I’m taking 'Beamette to the doctor, and doing a bit more puttering around the house. I may not get much done at a time, but call me the ant - I’m going to move this rubber tree plant!
Happy Hump Day everyone!
