Battle of the movie bands

What musical group in a movie is your favorite.
It comes down to two for me.

The Blues Brothers (there was only one Blues Brothers movie)
and

The Commitments
The Commitments have sexy Irish girls and that is a big plus but it when it comes down to I prefer The BLUUUUUUuuuuuueeeeess Brotherssssss.

Ok the Cantina Band is good but they only know two songs.

Stillwater really isn’t too bad for a movie band.

What, no love for Wyld Stallions, even though their music saves the world (or something)?

Actually, no, the Princesses could never match up to Angeline Ball and Maria Doyle. Mmm… 2 out of 3 Commitmentettes…

There was really a band in the 1970s called Stillwater
Had a song called “Mindbender” in '77

Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Spinal Tap could go up to 11 on all the aforementioned. That, and they have armadillos in their trousers.

I’d daresay CB4 could take 'em all out, excepting Spinal Tap* might* be able to take them all out with sheer confusion and volume.

Also, the band in Almost Famous would have done pretty well for themselves, as would The Folksmen

But Mitch & Mickey and the Main Street Singers would be toast.

Spinal Tap would definitely headline the movie band tour. I would save a slot for The Rutles, it would not be a proper show without the “Pre-fab Four.”

How 'bout the School of Rock? Especially when you consider they’re like, ten years old, they rock pretty hard.

The Oneders from That Things You Do!

My vote’s for The School of Rock…

What was the name of the band in Wild in the Streets (very early 70s movie) that had Richard Pryor as a hook-handed drummer.

Now that band had to rock - I mean, it took over the world and put everyone over 30 into concentration camps.

Bad News kicks the flabby ass of Spinal Tap.

Rik Mayall, Adrian Edmunson, Nigel Planer, and Peter Richardson. (Not to mention French & Saunders as the most pathetic groupies ever.)

The Leningrad Cowboys and the Schmenge Brothers have their charms, too.

The Hong Kong Cavaliers are my favorites, skinny ties rule!

Another vote for Wyld Stallions. Despite their (initial) lackluster musical skills, their philosophy is one to really rock with.

Plus, the band’s babes are totally hot.

What? No one has mentioned Steel Dragon yet?

Hey I just remembered.

The 5 6 7 8s are pretty neat.

I’m sticking with the Blues Brothers. Any band that can play two songs all night long and entertain the crowd is special.

**Wyld Stallions[/d], duder!

The Blasters in “Streets Of Fire”
Los Straightjackets in “Surf Nazis Must Die”

What was the band in Bukaroo Banzi? They were pretty impressive. Then again any band where all the members carry hand guns is pretty intimidating.
