Battlestar Galactica 2.4 — "Resistance" (open spoilers)

That’s OK…I know there’s always the risk of stumbling upon a spoiler or two in this thread. I try to look away but sometimes it’s too late!!!

So what do you all think about Helo & the Starbuccaneers?

Are these guys all red shirts?

Will Caprica Boomer come back with a heavy Raider, rescue them all and bring them back to Galactica? Would that make Starbuck the best new recruit finder in the fleet?

Will Starbuck develop a love interest with Sam, the pyramid guy? Will he then have to die, or might they let him make it back to Galactica, so he can bump heads with Apollo over Starbuck?

Come to think of it, Sam looks a bit like a cross between Zack & Lee Adama. Maybe Cmdr. Adama will adopt him like the son he should have had. That’d sure t-off Apollo.

Yes, and yes.

Yes. He has to wear a red shirt. I don’t know how long it will last.

Does Starbuck make the best cup of coffee in the fleet? :stuck_out_tongue:

How long are they going to keep up this indecisive Apollo stuff? It would be just as annoying and assinine to wonder “who is the Cylon this week?” and “who’s side is Apollo on?”

No, just the most expensive.

They have a few nice songs, but for the most part their music is rather forgettable. Mark my words, a few years from now they’ll be on some sort of VH-1 “Where are they now?” rockumentary.

“And why is there a nine-hour radio delay between transmission and receipt?”

::Taps WOM on table. Shakes it and listens.::
Whoos-O-Meter

I think Apollo can be relied upon to always do what would piss off his dad the most. And always caveat it with “this isn’t about you, dad.”

Looks like they resolved it this time, at least for the time being. Apollo clearly and irrevocably decided his commitment to democracy outweighed both his military oath and his filial devotion. I can’t see any way for him to go back now, at least until martial law is lifted and Roslin is reinstated.

I don’t know that he decided anything outweighed his military oath. Wouldn’t his military oath include something about “protecting the Articles of Colonization from all enemies, foreign and domestic”? (Or “toaster and human”, as the case may be.)

What happens when martial law is declared? Say if Nixon had decided to launch a nuclear strike because he was going to be impeached? I think that in the IDF a soldier is expected to consider the legality of his orders, but I don’t know how that sort of thing works.

I don’t think even this board of all boards has any members expert in the legal system of the 12 Colonies of Kobol, or its fleet’s Uniform Code of Military Justice, unfortunately.

No racist remarks, please, even from moderators.

Only a toaster would consider that racist.

Maybe we should do a poll of household appliances to make a determination one way or the other.

The Cylons say they hate being called toasters; but they’re just programmed to say that.

Was the infamous “Talky Toaster” of Red Dwarf fame a Cylon?

The Toaster says yes but the oven, fridge and mircowave said no.
