Well there was that comment Adama made to Tigh “You’ve been different since New Caprica” which echoes a theory someone had a while ago that the F5 replaced the original people on New Caprica at some point.
Personally I don’t think that’s the case, as it’s understandable that Tigh would have changed given some of the things he had to do on New Caprica (not least of which was killing his wife for treason).
Roslin also got a transfusion of stem cells from baby Hera in season two. That could explain the shared visions without her being the 12th Cylon. Hera seems to be sharing the visions too juding by her notebook full of Sixes.
Not my favorite episode, but not my least favorite either. I don’t mind character development, but I dont like the episodes where it is nothing but character development. I need my sci-fi fix too and there was not enough.
My main problem is the whole confrontation over Tigh getting Six pregnant and then it was dropped from the rest of the episode. They get into a fight because Adama no longer trusts Tigh’s judgment, but then just hands over the reins to him like it never happened. Now I am questioning the Admiral’s judgment.
I dont see how Tigh could stay in command once word of the pregnancy gets out. Unless they force her to have an abortion, they cant keep it secret for very long, and the guards know who the father has to be.
I have no idea who would be next in the chain of command though after Tigh.
I hope they address this very quickly in the next episode aboard the Galactica (next week looks like they are focusing solely on the base ship though) the show is losing some major credibility.
He’s so judgment-impaired, or maybe just lovelorn, that he doesn’t realize that Tigh is just as bad off, and maybe worse.
Next in the chain of command would seem to be Helo, except he’s away on the basestar. The current CAG is Starbuck, so maybe her. Or Lee could put the wings back on, except it’s too soon after his resignation for Moore to do that.
Yeah, you can’t just hand-wave away the fact that Tigh is apparently as in love with Six as Adama is with Roslyn. We need to see more about that. Did Six get pregnant because Tigh loves the Ellen overlay, or do these two truly love each other? I really need to see more.
Helo would seem to be next in command, but they could always drag out Captain Kelly.
Nah, he’s still in love with Ellen. C6 even looks like her to him, with her ability to get inside the mind whose new workings he’s still trying to figure out.
It’s enough that the Colonials speak English without being surprised that they use the same spellings, too.
Where can I get a copy of “Searider Falcon”? With the corners cut off?
Nothing important, just wanted to add that I loved Tigh’s expression when Adama said that.
Also? I might have missed it, but wouldn’t the Final Fifth have showed up at the meeting if it was on board Galactica? I’m sure this has already been discussed…And a Cylon doctor would be creepy.
I like Helo, but I dont think the fleet will trust a commander with a Ceylon wife. Especially after what she just did. And Kelly got busted for assassinating Baltar’s public defender. Gaeta just lost a leg, and I can’t see him in a command role. Starbuck has too many issues.
Their chain of command seems to be getting pretty slim these days. I think the only one without major baggage at the moment is Dualla. I still see in her lurking in the background, but I cant see her in a command role either. Maybe there is a Marine colonel or captain hiding somewhere - I dont think we have ever seen a Marine officer, just sergeants.
Or have Lee become President and Commander-In-Chief literally.
Hell, Tigh aint looking so bad after all. They still need to address the issue though.
Pretty much the entire Lampkin/Apollo storyline felt too compressed, like too much had been cut out. Lee told us that Zarek was feeding the Quorum’s fears, but we didn’t see much of it – the Quorum acted exactly the same as they’ve acted since Lee joined them. Lee says they need to form a search committee… and it’s just him, and Lampkin; no evidence of Quorum support, at all. Then Lampkin goes all whacko, and the explanation of why is only in a few lines of muttered dialog. No build up. It was like snapshots of a storyline.
Also, Lee’s solution by giving Romo a dog is about the most asinine thing anyone has done on this show so far. The cat was a touchstone for Romo’s wife and family! He wasn’t some crazy cat hoarder who just needed a new pet so he can go back to his hole and mutter to himself some more. Ass.
Well, that’s just wrong!
Not you, the name. Ick.
And did I miss something when I went to refill my chip bowl- there was Tigh/6 shagging? Because if there’s a pregnancy I think we need some evidence of copulation- a frakking kiss would do…
I doubt it; the Battlestars are portrayed as essentially large fleet aircraft carriers mixed with battleships in space.
Here on Earth, a carrier has a crew of 428 officers and 4154 enlisted crewmen, and I can’t imagine that the Galactica is too far off, especially as far as the officer:enlisted ratio of 1:10 would go.
So, even if Galactica has a 1100 person crew, it still has 100 officers, many of which are in the chain of command.
We only see the interesting ones… there’s likely a junior officer overseeing the laundry, and a whole slew who run the guns and defensive armaments.
