beard trimmer haircut

Just got a haircut using my beard trimmer. Turned out really good! I guess I can scratch that off from my pandemic bucket list…

Without pictures, it didn’t happen… or, at least, it didn’t turn out as good as you claim. ; )

Hey, I’ll back him up - got desperate and had a beard trimmer haircut the day before yesterday. I did the front and Mrs T did the back. Looks fine. Well, the bits I can see do, anyways…

Had the same thing last week - all the stores around here are sold out of regular electric hair clippers, so we decided a beard trimmer would have to do. It was definitely slower than using a proper hair clipper, but the haircut itself turned out better than I expected!

I trimmed around my ears yesterday. Looks reasonably good, I think. Just hope I’m not on my way to a mullet.

I used to use a Wahl’s for a DIY haircut(one length all over). Got a Brio Beardscape a couple of years ago. Far better. Smoother and quieter.

My husband has shaky hands so can’t be trusted with sharp objects. I got out the clipper and inserted the longest attachment, a #8. Used that length all over my head, and it looks not bad. At least I got the long curls that were sticking out. Next time I’ll use #6.

If I get really good at this, I may never go to a barber again.

I actually did buy and try a hair trimmer some years ago, as a money saving technique. Worked well except for an area above each ear that I simply could not get. No one here to help. I didn’t even know what was happening until the guys at work couldn’t take it anymore. Back to the barber after that.

Now I’m just letting it all grow to see how big it will get, like in my teens. To bad it’s a natural afro…

I used my trimmers this weekend. My beard was a bush and my hair was too long. First, my gf practiced with scissors. She actually shaped my beard nicely. I can see having her do this in the future.

Then she played around with my trimmer using the longest guard. Again, she did a nice job.

Next, I got down to business. Guard off, I shaved off everything but my eyebrows. Then I used a razor for a smooth finish. Stubble is growing back in already, so my plan is to let everything grow until it’s too long, then shave again.

I’ve been using butch clippers without an attachment since i was a punk rock in the early 80’s. Still do. Brio sounds cool though.

My eldest is sheltering in place in their dorm in LA. Has my beard trimmer that I never used and did their own mohawk. The front looked good but the unseen back is prolly uneven.

Middle child wanted a trim, so I used an attachment on the butch clippers. Not terrible. He doesn’t care and it’s edgy if I mess it all up anyway. Win-win.
