Because We Can Never Get Enough… It’s A Monty Python MMP

I’m no way catching up on all that…

Today: breakfast, plant flowers, water lilacs and the pear tree, clean the garage, sweep and hoe out the garage, wash and wax car, and start de-thatching the lawn.

Next up: shower and the neighbor’s kid’s birthday party. Plan to consume beer.

yay!

Prayers and good thoughts appreciated- Mr. Lissar’s friend (whom he took to the hospital on Thursday) did have a minor heart attack. He’s doing okay, but has been ordered not to do anything for a week. He’s eighteen, which makes it scarier. Eighteen-year olds shouldn’t have heart attacks.

Dang, **LiLi ** - 18-y/o guys don’t have heart attacks - they induce heart attacks with all the stunts they pull. Good thoughts heading his way.

We’ve quit - I quit because my back is aching. We cleared out a bunch of shelves, but there’s still at least as many left to sort. Something to do tomorrow, I guess. Supper is going to be grab whatever - we’ve got leftovers and stuff in the freezer.

Ice cream for dessert. Life is good.

Now I have cb and rigs thinkin’ I have happy poos.

Prayers and good thoughts headed out LiLi.

My cold is better but I still think I’m all infectious like so once again I told ol’ y’all know who not to come around me today. Maybe tomorrow I’ll be non-infectious again. Ima get out the ol’ George Foreman grill and do me a chicken boob on it. I’ll slice it up on top of a sallit. MMMMMMMM…

Ima go do that now.

Bye!

{{Taters}} If the itching gets much worse, you might want to go to the ER and get seen. There may be something they can do that you can’t get over the counter.

{{Nava}} That cartoon for Iñaki was really sweet. And it does sound like he had nothing but the respect of his fellow climbers, and did everything right. Unfortunately, even doing everything isn’t enough sometimes when you’re dealing with a mountain like Annapurna. :frowning: Prayers for the rescuers to make it safely down.

{{LiLi}} I’m glad your friend’s heart attack was a mild one. I hope they’re able to get him started on a treatment program that gets him stable and healthy again.

My great-aunt worked at Nieman’s in Dallas, and I visited her at the store once when snowbunny was about 3 years old and she was working in children’s. They had hand-smocked baby dresses – this was in 1979 – that cost over $300. Talk about insane! I did find a cute little red dress for snowbunny that was only $25 and that she wore a lot so we got our money’s worth out of it. But a $25 dress for a 3-year-old is a lot different than a $300 dress for a one-month-old infant! But definitely, onesies are your friend!

My day has been exceedingly dull and boring. I am really not in the mood to work; alas, this is not a day when I can succumb to a case of the Don’t Wannas. I expect I’ll get motivated later, but that just means I’ll end up staying up way too late, alas, because I have to get a certain amount of work done today. :frowning: Wish me luck. :frowning: I need it. :frowning:

I’m having a very crabby day here. Partly I’m crabby at me, and partly I’m crabby at TVMan. I’ve been siting here all day doing basically nothing except for fixing lunch. And he has been downstairs working all day except for about 20 minutes since 6 a.m. There are lots of things that I could be doing, but few of them are here. I’d really rather just be at home. :frowning:

We’ve returned from getting the updo for my daughter’s hair. It looks terriffic!

Pretty soon, we’ll start putting her makeup on and get her in her dress so we can take pictures. I can’t wait to see the total package.

We went showed our friend and neighbor my daughter’s hair and the first my friend noticed was my arms and hands. She made her husband, the paramedic, go upstairs and get me some Benadryl. I had no idea you take that for itchiness. When I was looking at it the grocery store it talked about runny, itchy eyes, stuffy nose, sneezing. I’m hoping this works.

The weather here is beautiful. I’m so glad it’s cooperating. It was supposed to rain.

I’ve got tidying to do. Later dudes and dudedettes.

Adding some more {{{{{{}}}}}}} for Nava.

Taters, Benadryl is wonderful stuff for the itchies. When I brushed a nettle in England the only thing that killed the horrible burning rash was Benadryl cream.

LiLi, 18-year-olds aren’t allowed to have heart attacks. I’m glad it was mild and they caught it. And those baby clothes prices are outrageous. I can see spending the money on something significant, like a christening gown. Not on a frilly little velvet number that will smell like dirty baby at the end of the day. Babies = onesies.

swampy has happy poo, what?

Taters, Benadryl works like a wonder for itching – for some people. After snowbunny had surgery as a child, however, and had a cast over her 10-inch incision, Benadryl did nothing for her itching, so they gave her some prescription meds for it, which fortunately worked. So there’s lots of options. But Benadryl is always a good starting point – and, depending on what it is, you can also use a topical hydrocortisone along with it. When Papa Tigs stepped on a fire ant nest, he used both hydrocortisone and Benadryl, and still had to go through multiple rounds of steroids and antibiotics for it. :frowning:

Isn’t anybody gonna give me a swift kick in the ass and tell me to get in gear and get some work done? Someone? Anyone?

I tried using topical Benedryl, it didn’t work. I tried other topical treatments too, and they didn’t work.

I’m not so sure oral Benedryl is going to work. I’ll give it a little longer. I only took 25 milligrams, so maybe I need a stronger dose.

At any rate, I plan to call the doc on Tuesday and see what we can do about this. I really don’t want to stop taking the diuretic because it works dammit, but I can’t live like this either. I didn’t take any today and won’t for the rest of the weekend.

I’m feeling incredibly guilty about missing my workout, but there was no way I could get it in today, plus the itching was driving me insane. I don’t think I could have made it through the workout anyway. Maybe tomorrow, if we don’t go out on the boat.

Hi people. Today has been a better day so far. Yesterday I ran the gamut of emotions, and am a bit wore out from it.

First, my oldest daughter, Jessica called in the early afternoon to tell me that she had some bad news, which always fills me with dread. She told me that #2 daughter, Naomi, was in the hospital with a collapsed lung. After I called the hospital and spoke with the doctor and he explained what had happened and what the treatment was he let me speak with Nay for a couple of minutes. She was released and Jess went to get her and get her food and all comfy in her apartment, so she is doing alright, but still, it’s difficult to be so far away from them when things like this happen. The report this morning is that she is resting, but it is grossing her out, as she can feel the tube in her chest “touching my organs”. The tube comes out Tuesday, and with luck this will be a one time occurrence, as if it becomes chronic, they will operate and use a chemical solution to build up scar tissue over the weak spot.

So, I was a wreck, and then at 11:30 pm the front door opened, and in walked my son-in-law and my granddaughter!!! She came right to me as if it hadn’t been months since I have seen her, and she is absolutely the most fabulous grandchild in the world!

So, I am all wrung out, but happy. The sun is shining and the temp is up to 52 F, and it’s a new day. Tea will be coming over soon, and I will take pictures.

Ta!

I hope your daughter gets well soon, kai. :: hugs ::

LiLi, I didn’t know 18 year olds could even have heart attacks. I hope he’s okay.

Made basil pesto for pasta salad tomorrow, and in process of making tart crust, which as it turns out is a bitch and a half to make (currently in freezer; final stage before actual baking). I hope it’s worth it!

{{{kai}}} glad your daughter is ok.

BioTigs I bet your great aunt knew a great recipe for cookies.

Taters we must see pics of daughter all updoed (updooed?) and fancy dressed.

Spaz a particularly good poo is a happy poo. :stuck_out_tongue:

I went snoopin’ in one of my upright freezers (I have two plus a small chest freezer but y’all already knew that, right?) and I found… Bluebell vanilla ice cream with strawberries!!! YAY!!! Ice creamy goodness shall be had. I shall consume it whilst watchin’ BritComs on GPTV tonight. Not the whole half gallon though. That’d be gluttony. I’m just not up to commitin’ any of the seven deadly sins tonight. Maybe once I get over this cold, but not tonight.

{{{Nava}}} & {{{Taters}}} & {{{Kai}}} & {{{Swampy}}} - aw, hell - the whole {{{MMP}}}! :frowning:

We’ve discussed it, and we’re going to go ahead and get Blaze neutered since he has a testicular tumor. As well as remove the “soft tissue mass” that has grown, and he was chewing on. And get his teeth cleaned, since he’ll be under anesthesia. But we decided against sending off the tumor to the lab. So we’re looking at $450 instead of $750. He’s twelve - if he has cancer we’ll just make him comfortable until the end. :frowning: Kai, he’s a Sheltie.
We’ve had a busy day. We bought a futon for the office/library/guest room. We got it home, unpacked it, and realized we had no hardware. Grr! We went back to Sam’s Club, and they didn’t have any more in stock, so we had to go to another store. Two hours later… It’s purty though, don’t ya think? I put it together with minimal help from Mr Rebo. I am Queen of the Hex Key! He had to help me put the back on, and then he tightened everything with the electric screwdriver.

We need it because my brother and his wife want to come visit before they have to go back to work in July - so we’re gonna fix up the front room for them. We’re gonna take them to a base-a-ball game! The Astros are pretty hot right now.

This delayed demolition of the frontdoor. Mr Rebo is installing the new front door this weekend. FCM, we can sympathize with spending a holiday weekend doing remodeling!

Dinner has been in the crockpot all day - we’re gonna see how the Crockpot Chicken Merlot with Mushrooms comes out. Mmm. Smells good! With buttered noodles and a broccoli/corn/roasted red pepper medley.

**Rebo ** - I love your futon!!

Medicinal ice cream, right, swampy??

Huh? Does not compute.

Now I’m sleepy. Arrgh. I just wish I had this stuff DONE so I could crash!

Thanks, everyone. It’s ridiculous- he’s in fantastic shape, he does all three dojo programs every day, but he’s under a huge amount of stress, and that’s what caused it. He’s a really good kid. I hope he manages to take it easy. We’ll take some food up to him tomorrow.
In much less serious news, I’ve still got the damned blocked duct, and I’m going to call the doctor on Monday, because I’m starting to get persistently sore. I don’t like just watching an infection develop, and I don’t want anything to interfere with feeding my baby, especially the flu-type symptoms.

Lucy found the futon!

ETA: {{{LiLi’s duct and her friend, too.}}}

BioTigs I was speaking, of course, of the infamous Neiman-Marcus cookie recipe. I’ll bet you just ate em by the ton growin’ up bein’ as you had a great aunt that worked there and all.

MOOOOOOM ice cream is always medicinal if one is sick. Or tired. Or in a bad mood. Or eating it to prevent illness. It’s versatile that way!

Speakin’ of tahred… well, sleepy, I am. I took night night meds about half an hour ago and they’re startin’ to kick in. I called ol’ y’all know who to say nighty nite. He asked if I was plannin’ on churchification (I taught him that word) tomorrow but I have not decided that yet. I’ll just see how I feel in the mornin’. He misses me. AWWWWWWW…

Nitey Nite!

My head hurts from crying all afternoon. I finally had such a strong desire to be at home that I left TVLand. Somehow I still haven’t quit crying now that I’m here. :frowning:
