Good morning Beck, glad to see you posting.
Glad to see that you are recovering well!
Yay! Beck’s awake and posting!
Hope all goes smoothly from here on out.
Don’t take it personal. Considering the year health care workers have had I’m sure they hate EVERYBODY and not just you ![]()
@Beckdawrek , glad you made it. It’d be dull, dull, dull around here without you.
I totally agree.
I am exasperating.
Welcome back, Beck! hugs
Welcome back to the the real world Beck. Not much has changed, Biden is still President and a new strain of covid has arrived. The Olympics will entertain us in July. We may even have a repaired bridge into Memphis sometime in the next few weeks. Woo-hoo!
Take care of yourself and stay after the nurses. Make sure they give you the attention and care you need. Get better soon. We miss you.
Welcome back, Beck! Glad to see you’re recovering and driving the nurses to an early retirement.
Well Beck, I didn’t know you were down until you were up again. So glad you came out of it all right! We need you around here!
I’m glad you are better. Our lives would be sad without your reports of Clarence and Bigtoe.
Night nurse speaking. I’m sure they love you too and it is the other patients who are making them weary. Aren’t pain pumps the bomb!? When I’ve had one I call it “Dope on a rope.” Of course ‘dope’ holds a different meaning for me now that I have found you guys. Y’all are far more likely to keep me awake and laughing than to put me to sleep. As I remember my newbie-new days here Beck, you were the first poster to have that delightful effect on me, I hung on every word you posted, laughing all the while. I’m a Beck groupie. I’m owning that.
Use your “Dope on a rope” to the max, that’s what it’s there for. The nurses are all busy in the break room fighting over who gets to take care of you.
She’s probably right, you know. Good to see you back, @beckdawrek!
I though me and Letterman were the only folks who use that phrase. I’ve just decided I like you.
The nurses don’t hate you. They probably hate being understaffed, overworked, and very likely underappreciated (not by you, by hospital administration).
Wishing you calm waters and smooth sailing!
mmm
Glad to have you back @Beckdawrek - and don’t overdo it getting caught up on the board or the world. We (and it) will wait for you to heal a bit.
So glad to see you! We’ll be here as you heal. Hope you get some shut-eye soon.
At the risk of exposing that I haven’t carefully read every thread about the ongoing perils of Pauline Beck’s innards I read this thread’s title as suggesting Beck now has zero kidneys.
If true that’s far from good news on a strategic level even if the darn thing was badly diseased and needed to come out to live to fight another week. So am I reading this right?
@LSLGuy: you are reading it right. She had one kidney (which she had nicknamed “Poncho”), which had been causing her problems, removed surgically last year. The remaining kidney, “Lefty,” had soldiered on for a while, but she started needing dialysis a few months ago.
Ouch! Poor thing! I was afraid that’s what that meant. A difficult road just keeps getting steeper. Life sucketh greatly sometimes.
Whoa, I didn’t realize that either.
