Been meaning to...a show and tell MMP

Sorry why, Taters? It sure seemed to me like a perfectly logical reason to get see-red angry!

Don’t ever apologize for behaving logically, little grasshopper.

I did. :stuck_out_tongue: right back atcha!

I voted for it, anyway

Wait… BBBobbio wants to get his ass paddled across town? What? Couldn’t find anyone close by? :stuck_out_tongue:

Taters no need to apoligize. As you can see, we’re all lookin’ for rusty, pointy and hurty things to send ya.

Howdy from irk. Just has a 'shroom and Swiss cheese burger and homemade fries. Shouldn’t have. Full tummy. Sleepy bear. Long afternoon. Pronouns gone bye bye.

The hysteria has started. I had a preparer sobbing on the phone earlier, frantic over a return we don’t even prepare, among other things. As for anti-government idiots, I don’t even have words. Our work has been made much more difficult by them. They think they can cut back, find out they can’t and we, and our clients, suffer for it. Morons. (I know nobody’s crying over our client’s plight, but they are ahem* someone’s* base, if you know what I mean.)

Even me!!!

Taters, that doth well and truely suck!

I wonder, if the gumment shuts down, do the congresscritters get paid?

I hope not.
Last night I dreamed I was playing softball with Laura Bush, (and some other folks). I think George was in the stands drinking beer, but I’m not sure about that. I gotta quit eating left-over Chinese before bed.

Laters.

Yes Bumba, those cretins continue to receive paychecks. Oh, there have been calls by some Congresscritters to stop their pay, but it won’t happen.

It’s my lunch, and by God, I’m taking it.

I won’t go into the things that have been said at my work about our elected representatives and their moronic-ness. What pisses me off more than anything is that this budget should have been done SIX MONTHS AGO!!! And even if they forego their pay, how many of them are gazillionaires anyway? They’ll never notice. Meanwhile, the junior level clerks who are trying to survive paycheck to paycheck are having to bend over and grab their ankles.

Plus in DC, there’s the added hurt to places like restaurants that are patronized by gov’t employees - some say their business could be down by as much as 90% depending upon where they are - you can’t stay in business long under such circumstances… grrrrrrrrrrr Just another bennie from our idiot legislators.

I’ll tell you what will really piss me off - if there is a shutdown and they decide to pay those who were furloughed but those of us who have to work don’t get any time off. However, should there be a shutdown, I don’t expect that the non-workers will get paid just because of the budget situation. Still, we won’t know till we know. Stoopit legislative branch morons…

<think calming thoughts think calming thoughts>

When I was in junior high (in the early 70s, when my dad was “between gigs”, mom had to take a part time job, and gas was gasp 75.9¢ a gallon), and I heard that Congress gave itself a raise from $50K to $75K, all I could think of was ‘if you can’t make ends meet on $50K, I feel sorry for you’. Replacing that with today’s dollars, and dayam! if I can make ends meet on my salary, then twice that ought to be more than enough for Congress!.

Culinary Boy quit yesterday because the job was making him too angry.

I have tentative-not-told-anyone-at-irk-yet plans to quit on May 1. I have a job I’m going to apply to on Monday and I’m going to the tempin’ place to see if that’s a possiblilty.

It gives me great inner joy to know that they are going to be *screwed *when I leave because I’m the only one who knows or cares where things are kept. My evil laugh. Let me indulge in it. BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

[informercial announcer voice]That’s 1-900-BWA-HA-HA! Call for your evil laugh today!

$2.95 first minute, $4.95 each minute thereafter. Federal and state taxes apply. Void where prohibited.[/iav]

I think most people are ticked at the babies that call themselves our legislators. I want to throw the lot of them out and start over. The people who are cheering about the potential shutdown make me ill.   Personally, I think that legislators who are unable to come up with a budget on time should get their pay docked and have to pay a fine until they’re able to get something done. Maybe a nice increasing daily fine. That and a provision that autorenews the existing budget until they make up their mind would get them to something that made sense. Did I mention :mad::mad:?

I’m sending you rusty stuff as well, Taters.

That’s a gorgeous shawl, Shadow.Where are you going on vacation, by the way? Hope the rest of the tax season goes as smoothly as it can for you.

Hope the managing goes really well, taxi.

Good on you for getting the heck out, Spaz! Are there opportunities there for Culinary Boy as well?

I’ve started a load of laundry, eaten dinner and knit a bit. Need to go organize some stuff in the office for a while.

It’s almost Firday!!!

ETA: infomercial made me giggle, rosie.

Our own Eurocongresscritters are refusing to fly Tourist class. Some of them are saying that flying Business isn’t a privilege, it’s a need. I suspect I’m not the only frequent traveler who wants to smack that particular Eurocongresscritter with a 747x4.

Meanwhile, the recent crisis was used by The People’s Party to move back social gains which were venerable enough to be called “sir”. But these affect the little people, not the Eurocongresscritters.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN 'Tis 63 Amurrkin out and looks like a high of upper 80’s today and clear. Yay for warm weather! Of course I shall be at irk and then at the church house to get fish 'n chips ready for tonight’s doin’s after Stations of The Cross. Still, it’s nice to have wunnerful weather.

Looks like our Congressional Idiots and the rest of 'em can’t agree yet. I like your idea of a fine gt.

Nava, 747X4, HEE! Made me giggle.

Go get 'em Spaz!

Bumba I say you should eat more left-over Chinese before goin’ to bed. Your dreams entertain us and it is all about our entertainment after all!

Tomorrow, friends are comin’ over for a little get together. We shall have grilled poke tenderloin, friggin’ good N.O.T., sallit, garlic bread and lemon icebox pie. Plus beer, of course. I envision hangin’ out on the back porch cause of the nice weather. WOOHOO!

I need more caffiene stat. Also rumbly tummy demands to be fed post haste. Then, alas, purtification for irk must commence.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Wheee! Thank goodness it’s finally FIRDAY! Unfortunately, that’s the only good thing about today so far. No deal YET for a Federal Budget. So I might be on an unpaid vacay on Monday.

That’s all I got, must get in to work to ensure that everything is up-to-date. :frowning:

Up, caffeinated off to irk. Watching hockey with friends tonight.

[Nelson]Ha! Ha! [/Nelson]

Got a call from the owner of the flat, who’s got someone that’s interested and who asked about getting the bedrooms furnished. Sorry man, but since you reiterated you didn’t want any of the furniture and that it would be a bother to deal with it, it’s already sold. I now have a half-disassembled bookcase, another one I have to take apart, and that along with the bed, table and chair that are still left will be picked up next Friday by the guy who bought it all. The place looks like a war zone right now.

Happy Firday!

A bunch of dummies up there in Washington. They should be ashamed of themselves, attempting to hold the government hostage. Stoopit politics.

It’s my Friday off, and I’m taking Dad to the dentist, then probably we’ll have lunch somewhere. Dinner will be a pot of beans made with a leftover hambone, and cornbread. Mmm!

I wanna eat dindin at Rebo’s! YUM! Instead I will be cookin’ up fish 'n chips for the masses. Well, not masses, more like the dozens.

Howdy from irk. I’s swimmin’ in a sea of paper irk but I see light at the end of the tunnel or whatever it is one is supposed to see when one emerges from a sea of paper irk.

Time to dive back in.

Later Y’all!
