Mwahahahaha! :stuck_out_tongue:

Morning all! Hi Roo! Are ya missing Special1 yet???

Just a quick post before I whisk HRH back to bed for her morning nap! Y’all were busy last night!

Gotta hit the sack shortly, but I figured I’d respond before I do so I don’t have even more to respond to in the morning.

Heff - No, this happens every once in a while, and has for for as long as I can remember. I have two problems – though one I suspect is related to my weight. The first is that I am preternaturally disturbed by noises when I’m trying to get to sleep. Any noises – building settling noises, cats slinking about, noises from outside, etc. The closer I am to sleep when the noise occurs the more it startles me, and the longer it takes me to get back to sleep. This is a perpetual thing. I sleep with a fan on every night which, during the summer does provide some air circulation and additional cooling (alongside the AC) but more importantly, it provides a source of low-level white noise that helps drown out the more subtle noises you generally year during the night, and gives me something to focus on in order to get to sleep. The second problem is that I suspect that the additional weight I’m carrying around is playing silly buggers with my body’s ability to regulate its temperature, specifically with respect to the temperature of my skin. There are times when I feel chill just on the surface of my skin, but much warmer beneath it. This results in a mildly uncomfortable disparity that can cause me to sweat and prevent me from getting comfortable. This disparity, in causing me to sweat, also makes me itchy, which is far more uncomfortable than the disparity itself. When these two things converge – temperature disparity and noise – it adds up to lost sleep. Once I do drift off I sleep quite soundly though. It’s getting there that’s sometimes the problem.

Scribbles - ADD? Naw. Sneak peaks of senility? You betcha. In fact, just sleep deprivation. It always seems to-- OOH! A penny.

GT - I try not to get too many things going at once because I know that if I get into one of my link-following modes, I’ll be gone for hours. It’s like reading topics you’re interested in on Wikipedia; it only takes five or ten minutes to read the entry you’re interested in, but you’ll be following all the related linked words for half the day because it just isn’t a complete picture until you do. Damn curiosity always gets-- OOH! Unforunately placed ads.

Right. Bed. Night.

Haze, hey wait. . .I’m still here. You mean we aren’t supposed to be in our pj’s the rest of the time?
**
Dotty**, yeah, I’m already missing Special1. I hope he’s having a good time, though. Who’s going to say good night and good morning at weird times? Will you be taking over that job for him for the next couple weeks?

Mork, shucks, I thought it might be something real simple to fix. Well, it sounds like you know what you need though. So I hope that it all comes together for you and you get some good sleep soon.

I’m off to bed. Good night everyone!
And good morning to Dotty!

Er, no. I am always impeccably dressed.

Roo, I will be more than happy to assume (albeit temporarily) responsibility for saying Good Morning and Good Evening to you at (your perceived) weird hours! I will even admire your bounces, but I am afraid the flirting and smooching is something that I, as a married woman, cannot indulge!

Morning all! So far the best thing about today is that the first email I received this morning was from my friend telling me which pub we’re going to tonight. As it’s a bit further away than our usual selection, we have to be ready a bit earlier!

In other news, one of the kids up the street keyed the side of my car. The bar-steward. Despite his protestations to the contrary, my CCTV shows clearly that it was him. The car’s booked in on the 14th August for 3 days of repair work in the bodyshop and his parents will be paying for it. The estimated bill is just short of £300 so I hope they’re going to be taking it out of his allowance for the forseeable future. The git.

Gee BooFae, what a nasty little prat!

All quiet on the home front here - HRH is having a nap and the sausage and mushroom risotto is all ready for lunch - just needs a sprinkle of parmesan and a knob of butter to be stirred through.

PJs? Hm. I should upgrade from my tube sock, then.

honestly LOUNE, I don’t know how you were able to sleep since I short sheeted you bed last night

Maybe I slept in someone else’s bed…hm?

Didn’t think about that, did ya?

And we’ve decided not to press charges. Just let us know you’re coming over next time, okay?

Ok, it’s now halfway through the work week. Do ya think some MMPers who shall remain unnamed could tone down the behavior? This place is a mess!

I am awake at this unreasonable hour because Mr. SCL kept hitting snooze, which meant the alarm went off three times. The third time he shut if off and didn’t get up, so I had to wake him up or he would have been late for work. So now I’m awake but I will probably have a nap later.

BooFae, I am glad you caught the little snot who keyed your car. That is despicable. And a liar, too, which doesn’t surprise me. Why are vandals so tough until they get caught?

He obviously thought it was acceptable behaviour since it looks as if he’s done the same thing to his mother’s car on more than one occasion. She parks it outside our house sometimes and it’s got a fair bit of damage to it. Maybe he just thinks that any car parked in that spot is fair game. In fact, he’s lucky it was me who caught him and not 'im indoors otherwise he’d probably not be walking for a while.

The CCTV tape has been taken away by the police, who will be prosecuting the scumbag - although he’s technically a minor, he’ll still get a police caution and a juvenile criminal record.

BooFae, what’s a bar-steward?

doggio have you heard of any construction of delays on I-85 up around Durham? Gotta go that way Sunday afternoon.

BooFae, now you know why some animals eat their young…

BooFae, what an eejit! But it’s awfull satisfying that he DID get caught.

I really shouldn’t talk in the morning before I’ve had caffiene.

Same as a bastard, it’s just how it gets written to get it through those filters that stop you saying bad things. Obviously set up so I can’t tell Tin Knickers what I think of her.

:: Throws a bag ful of marbles on the floor just 'cuz ::

There’s a new Shivaree CD out, yay! Bought it, and am listening now, ratings to come later.

On the Bad News side, this happened a couple towns over yesterday. The director that they quote there is a friend of mine, in fact I used to live in that school district.

Alrighty then, I’ll just leave those marbles for some one else to [del]trip over[/del] pick up and put away.

The local news diversion of the day is a stray alligator in the general neighborhood where I work. A lot of Virginia folk have their collective panties in a wad after the gator was spotted last night in a yard, eating a duck.

Tin knickers sound painful.

Glad you nailed the um, bar-steward. How about bahstad? Now it sounds like you all live in Boston…

Off to work to make money of course!

I like my new moniker, although I’d never have anything as plebian as mumps. Must think of better title.
enjoy your Wednesdays.
