You guys will not guess what the second song was that the band played at the concert! Yes, folks, it was the very Mana Mana that was mentioned upthread. It was a rock/jazz band, all instrumental. Good musicians, but not so good at organizing their program. They looked really young, so I imagine they’ll figure it out eventually. Really liked their version of (dare I repeat it?) Mana Mana. They went off and did brief riffs between refrains and did each forgive me I can’t help myself Mana Mana with a slightly different instrument combo. Previous song was too long and free-form. They took a bit too much time after that gearing up for Ready now? Mana Mana. Please don’t hurt me.

Mmmm I got pork chops searin’ in my cast iron skillet. I went grocery shopping on Saturday and thought, “Self, it’s been a long time since you had a proper pork chop.” So I got some. They smell sooooo good. They’re making me miss my Mom though - good thing I’m going to see her next week! (I knew it was time to go visit when I was crying over my bowl of bean soup).

Whew! I haven’t caught up with the MMP all the way yet for this week. I had hoped to make it to my local farmer’s market today, but by the time I was on my way home from work I just felt too pooped to stop! I did get some fresh tomatoes over the weekend at least and had a BLT sandwich (or two …) today. Yes, on whole grain bread.
It’s almost hump day, woo hoo!

Mama Tigs, are you enjoying your book? I’m very bad at rationing books out like that, especially when I get close to the end, and then I stay up very, very late reading the whole darn thing.
He did get to go over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, so that’s almost like a roller coaster. He was very well-traveled, for sourdough. He wouldn’t have been a lot of fun on rollercoasters, anyway, because he wouldn’t scream, he’d just sit there and burp.
Haze, I’m very, very sorry about the 8 a.m. classes. It’s just not natural, getting up that early in the morning. I’m not human until 9 or 10.
tarra, BLTs with very ripe tomatoes are one of life’s greatest pleasures. I also like the classic, simple tomato and cheese, with sharp cheddar, and a glass of iced tea (sweet, of course) to wash it down. Although lately I’ve been sneaking a little bit of bacon onto my tomato and cheese sandwiches.
I have tons of work to do, but here I am anyway. I could use a brownie–anybody got a spare?
Ummm, like she has a disease? Gotta say it’s sorta appropriate for a nurse, though.
Ohhh, I think I forgot to tell Roo that it was fine if she was squicked out by the cactus. I didn’t say I loved Botany Photo of the Day because it was always lovely (though it often is…).

Small milestone today
I went to BBBY on lunch hour, I wanted to get a decent pillow for the car (I’ve been using a regular bed pillow but it’s too wide and I have trouble bucklingthe seatbelt) and I figure while I was there, I’d see if anything in the sheet set department caught my eye (nope - noone makes print sheets anymore - comforters and shams, sure, but the sheets are all solid colors - I am bummed by this) and I ended up walking completely around the store - that’s a good 300 + feet! My leg muscles complained a bit but I did not get out of breath! Yay!
Yeah, I’m blocked at work too, but I still post from my BlackBerry.

MagicEyes, yeah it blows. But what can you do. :: sigh :: That Guy and I ended up taking the same bus home tonight and had a good bitch about work. Honestly, we want to do our job well, but stupid admin is not cooperating.
I got my paycheck, but am somewhat confused because it is nowhere near the right amount I should be getting. Like, it’s 20% of what I was expecting. These people are really annoying. I have enough to deal with right now as it is, without having to haggle with them over my paycheck. I shouldn’t have to!
Tomorrow I’m just going flop myself down on the beach and try to forget my troubles for a bit.

Mork, I meant to mention this before, but I’ve noticed that you’ve been having trouble sleeping since you started restricting your calories. Could they be related? Might you be having a low blood sugar moment at night that awakens you? If so, you might want to time a snack of complex carbohydrate and protein some time before you go to bed to carry you through the night. The timing depends on your body. I hope you get more sleep soon. I like sleep. Sleep is good.
