Howdy all! Well, my day is drawing to a close (it’s just after 9pm now). HRH is long since asleep and hubby is out at bingo (yeah, you heard right - bingo. It’s the only legal form of “gambling” around here!).

Someone had asked me in the old MMP thread (which I just finished reading) what type of cat Boo is; the vet said (quite enthusiastically) that she’s a snowshoe .
Oh! And rosie had also asked me where that picture of her was that I drew a long time ago. It was from this thread - and my contribution was this pic of rosie.
Man, I slept in late. I have errands to run. Sigh.

Ok, I’m about to pack it in for the day. The next couple days are my leadership team retreat, so I won’t be posting during the day. I’ll be busy doing team building stuff, then having drinks in the afternoon.
Just finished catching up on the thread in time to pause and feed the critters. But that’s OK because I don’t have much to say today. Except to ask plaintively: Is it Friday yet??
I have tried to be productive today. Visit to Hobby Lobby to exchange the thread box with a broken lid; exit fee $15. Then on to K-Mart for Prilosec - if you’re not supposed to take it for more than two weeks in a row, why do they sell it in 6-week boxes? I came home to try to do some jewelry stuff other than making it, which is the only part I like. I need to take some pictures for the website, and I’m just not good at it. I think I got two usable pictures out of about 20 shots. Grrrrr.
Libby is not doing well; they did manage to get the central IV line in her chest so thank goodness they won’t have to keep sticking her for blood draws. She had her second course of chemo yesterday, but she is very weak and still having trouble breathing. Keep the prayers coming, please. She is fighting but she needs all the help she can get.
OK, critters are fed and dishwasher is now running - funny, when the kids were here, we ran it at least daily - one time we ran it twice in one day. But since they’ve gone, we’ve run it twice in a week. I see what dishes will be like when they live here.
Anyway - nice vacation pics, doggio! Sounds like you had a good break.

Do the “Milwaukee’s Best” (brewed by Miller) products also use the “mother yeast?”.
I ask because every single Miller product except the cheap shit listed above gives me sort of a sinus headache. I have always thought it was a preservative that was too expensive to use in the MB line…but perhaps it is byproduct of this particular yeast strain?
BTW, I used to have the same reaction to rye/pumpernickle bread, but outgrew it.

Supper was sketties, with enough left over for my lunch tomorrow. It was my last bag o’ sauce in the freezer, so I’ll need to cook up another batch soon.
Tomorrow is vet day - Bernie and Brandy go for their annual poke-n-prod-n-shots. Bernie won’t care. Brandy will be a challenge. She gets so suspicious when I try to pick her up. I brought her carrier in so she’ll not freak - in theory. Our appointment is at 6 - wonder what time I need to try to catch her??
**FCD ** is working up an estimate for building a workshop in the yard. It’s looking like we may be able to do a 20X30 shop for under $10K. The big question is getting power there. Gotta call the electric company. He did find a place that’ll sell us trusses cheaper than we could do a conventional roof - so yay! Unfortunately, I fear this could delay the completion of the ugly blue bathroom. I must badger the spousal unit…
I am home from work early (yay) and have watered the plants that I want to live outside. It is HOT out there. I hate hot. Ugh and yuck and blech.
Have visitors from NYC coming tomorrow–they’re on their way to Boulder CO (he got a job out there). They’re lovely people and I can’t wait to see them again! dogbutler-sorry about the traffic, but the Fest looks like fun.
I need to clean the house a bit. Just had dinner and dessert–found a great way to cool off. Eat LOTS Of ice cream–I am now shivering!
And I am done with school until Aug 22–YAY. I’d have a drink, but there’s none in the house. I’m not about to go out in the heat again.

Do we know for sure that it was an alligator? There was an alleged lion sighting in one of the suburbs around here a few years back. People freaked out, but it was never actually found. I think most people wound up thinking it was a hoax or an exaggeration.

I had pizza for dinner. Domino’s is selling large, one-item pizzas for $5. The flyer fell out of the local weekly paper; I took it as a sign that powers higher than me intended me to have pizza tonight. They begged me to make it delivery and not carry-out, but since I’m something like a one-minute walk away, I politely declined.
Not sure what else I want to do today. Maybe watch a movie.
doggio, cool pics! I was surprised how pretty SD is - I have always been under the (apparently very wrong and ignorant impression) that the Dakotas were neverending badlands best avoided by normal humans. Now I wanna go!

Well I am doing my pizza experiment tonight. I was up late last night making the dough, then put it in the fridge. I lost about half the dough because I failed to account for it rising! :smack: I’m an idjit sometimes. The good news though is that the gluten formation is just fantastic in what is left. I’ve got enough stuff around to slap together antipasto salad and make the pizza stretch a bit.
LOUNE, I haven’t got an appropriate omelette pan for baking in, but I may try a deep dish in one of my cast iron skillets. Thanks for the idea!
