What terrible pics of that bridge–it reminded me of the SF earthquake several years back (during the world series)–the pics of the highways buckled etc.
Hope there aren’t too many dead.

You scare me not, female. Your cooties, however, do.
You’re welcome, Miss Bruin. I make big, thick pizzas out of the omlette pan. They’re small, but they’re really filling.
And what’s this talk about not seeing the innocence. See the halo? gives it a quick adjustment
LOUNE, sweetie, we see the halo. And we see the string from which it hangs. Nice try, though.
Obviously, it’s the dazzling brilliance of my halo that makes it appear that there’s a string attached to it. It’s genuine. Trust me.
Haven’t got my wings yet, but they’re in the mail.
I don’t even want to know where you’re wearing that tube sock! No pictures, please! A tube sock and a halo…you know, Cops is not the best source for fashion advice.
I’m busy not working. I got up early this morning to take my car in to get the oil changed, and now I’m tired, so I’m procrastinating. I’ll do it all later. I’ll feel better after I have a cup of tea.
I’m surprised that came out bad, but I’d eat almost anything with goat cheese on it. It sounds fantastic. Was it just too much of everything? Maybe it just needed a bit less sundried tomatoes–they’re pretty strong. I think you should post the recipe, so we can experiment.
Which reminds me–I haven’t seen a hobo chicken recipe yet. I hope that’s coming soon!
Good luck with your salary negotiations, Haze. You shouldn’t have to beg to be paid what they said they were going to give you.
I think cheese in meatloaf is good–it’s kind of like a cheeseburger, but rectangular and not as melty. My favorite meatloaf is Ming Tsai’s spicy Asian meatloaf (no cheese in that one)–if you want to give it a try, it’s on his website.
puggy, let us know when the pool is done. Time for a roadtrip!
Sean, I don’t think 85 through Durham should be too bad on a Sunday afternoon. The drivers are always crazy, but it’s not as bad as some places, I guess.
Hi, Drae! Congrats on the new job!
Snakes, I’m sorry to hear Libby’s not doing well. She’s in my thoughts and prayers.
Psssst, MagicEyes, check the beginning of page 3.
Actual measurements to come tomorrow if you want.
That’s the part that I forgot to say earlier: I’m keeping Libby in my thoughts and prayers, SCL.
And ME - excellent fashion advice for LOUNE.
Sleepy. Off to bed.
GT
I didn’t say I was wearing the sweat-stained beater.
Although it might be a good look for me.
Good to hear about your job, Dr. Drae.
This bridge thing isn’t very good. I hope it comes out as good as it possibly can.
I heard about the bridge. That’s terrible. I hope all the Dopers there are safe.
So my paycheck drama continues. I just got informed that two of my classes are classified as “independent study” and pay less than my other classes. Okay, fine. It is only one student. The sneaky bastards didn’t tell me that initially, but whatever. But the admin lady told me that I’m getting paid an amount for that class that literally made me drop my jaw in disbelief. Basically it works out to getting paid $3.47 an hour. Er, is that even legal? I don’t think that’s even minimum wage.
Good grief. I can’t talk to anyone in any position to sort it out til tomorrow.
I need a cup of tea. growl
Hope all our MinneDopers are safe and sound. How terrible.
**Haze **- poor thing. Have a cuppa Earl Grey.
Well the pizza is coming out OK so long as no one minds that it doesn’t resemble pizza. I’m doing the cast iron one next, as soon as the cheese pizza for nephew gets out of the oven.
4 pizzas down and only one weepy burn. It’s coming out much better than I expected.
Haven’t read everything, but just wanted to let the Mumpers know that we’re ok re: the bridge collapse here in Mpls. Will catch up tomorrow.
Thanks for checking in, taxi. Glad to hear you and KeithT are OK.
GT
Thanks for letting us know, taxi! Color us collectively relieved.
Be one with the omlette pan, young disciple.
Good to hear you’re doing well, yellowcar.
What, no love for my Dr. Drae nickname?
That one came out the best - I’m polishing it off now. Thanks
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII tooooooold you singsong
To be fair, the last two free-form ones came out pretty good too. The cheesy one came out as sort of a lopsided heart.
Nephew: “Aww it’s a heart!”
Me: “That’s to remind you that between the sauce and the dough, about 6 hours of love went into this meal.”
Neph: “What about those first two pizzas? That must count for at least an hour’s worth of hate!”
Well the kid has a point.
Imma go wrap my burnt hand around a cold beer.
You’re the man now, dog!
Mork, wow, no wonder people want to move to Canada. You have holidays that you don’t even agree on the origins about. How cool is that! You even need a summary chart to tell what the holidays are. btw, cute beaver.
Hey, thanks for the invitation to vent on you. Oh, wait. . .I can’t blame you for something that’s not your fault? That’s definitely a good portion of the fun. I can live with B. . . . not much you can do from where you are. And C’s OK since I can’t scream too loud online. My font gets only so big. So how about 2 out of 3? No guarantee necessary on the venting. Just doing it is good enough. ![]()
~waving~ back at Dotty
Dotty, look at** Scribble**'s post for an animated snoopy dance. Thanks, Scribbles. (I forgot and opened a link from Scribbles; I think he’s lulling me into a false sense of security because that one was OK. I’ll be more careful next time.)
Here is Snoopy. And here are some of the snoopy dance steps. When something really good happens, we do a snoopy dance. It’s more energetic than a Roo bounce. (I’ll get to** rosie** in a minute.)
Thanks for the song. Unfortunately (or fortunately since it sounds like it sounds like it’s hard to get rid of), I don’t know that song. I love 50’s songs. So here’s one for you.
[Nat King Cole]Unforgettable, thats what you are
Unforgettable though near or far
Like a song of love that clings to me[/Nat King Cole]
Thanks for the wake-up calls and the bedtime shout-outs. I appreciate it.
Hey Shasta, nice pic of rosie.
Drae, Congratulations!!! Big time :::Snoopy Dance!!!::: on your new job. Keep us posted on how it’s going.
doggio, sorry. . . I wasn’t making fun of your airport pictures. Well, I was. . .but I’m sorry if it was rude.
Roos do so bounce. . . see? :::bounce, bounce, bounce::: Tiggers sproing.
taxi, I’m glad you’re OK.
Haze, sorry about your paycheck. Them’s are slave wages. I hope you get it straightened out soon.
When I got home today, there was a snake. . . a SNAKE!. . . trying to get through a crack near the door. Sorry SCL, but YACK!! It’s head was stuck in the crack so it was flinging its body to get back out. And he finally got free and slithered back out, but ewwww!!!, my skin was crawling watching the whole thing which took about a minute. So I’m hoping for no nightmares tonight about that. Dotty, I really need a bedtime song tonight. Morning for you. Thanks. I might not see it because I’m going to bed soon, but I’ll know and see it when I get up.
