Beer Can E.D. and The Mother Yeast, The MMP

:(, BBBobbio. It’s always sad when someone so young goes. I know you guys did all that could possibly have been done, though.

FCM, those were weird dreams. So what’s stirring up your subconscious so much, anyway? Scary things that go bump! in the night or something? Anyway, I promise I won’t tell on you. This time. Unless there’s something to my advantage in it, of course.

I stayed in bed longer than I meant to this morning because every time I made a move to get up, Emily snuggled up more closely and cranked her purr up even louder and looked so cute I just couldn’t stand it. She’s very good that way. She’s definitely got me figured out. Cats!

Today Lapin Blanc and I have to take stuff over to storage that she’s not taking with her, and then get her car loaded up so she can hit the road at the crack of dawn tomorrow. Sniffle…we’re all gonna miss her!! I know she’ll do well with her aunt Debbie, however. Debbie is good people. Even if she is part of Papa Tigs’ crazy family. :dubious:

Off to caffeinate some more. I’m not in any hurry to do anything particularly constructive this morning, as you might have noticed.

BBBobbio that sucks, I could never do a job like yours, I wouldn’t handle that kind of thing very well.

Made the flock breakfast - the Child has the Man over today, so I scrambled eggs, and slathered Bacon Salt all over the hash browns and we ate a nummy breakfast.

Wife and I have some running around to do, then later the four of us are headed into the city for this. It’s a lot if fun we’ve gone the past few years. For $5, you get in the stadium - it’s open as for a game - all the food/drink stands, the team comes out and gets introduced, then we basically watch them practice.

Well, you have to be a fan to do it, but we are. I think it’s neat for families - you see a lot of people there with the kids they wouldn’t spend a $75 + ticket on during the season.

And there’s fireworks afterwards.

Sorry to hear that, Bobbio. It’s always hard when there’s nothing you can do to help.

Family night looks like fun, MBG.
::Sneaks over and dumps a pail of cold water over LOUNE’s head::
Glad the boat is OK, FCM.

palebunny is going to keep us updated on how she’s doing, right?

Back from church. I watered pretty thoroughly and did a little bit of clean up. There’s stuff that needs to be trimmed; not this week though.

Now it’s back to putting the spare room back together again. Feels good to get that done.

Back later.

Bobbio, I’m so sorry you lost one. It sounds like you and the crew did everything you could.

Good morning everyone. We’re out of coffee, so I’ll have to try and rustle up the “emergency” coffee. I had planned on picking some up yesterday, but events overtook me. We are down to our LAST roll of toilet paper. That has NEVER happened in this house. I had planned on picking up TP too, but again, events interceded.

Early yesterday afternoon, Mr. Taters and I headed off to Best Buy. He wanted to buy computer speakers for the computer upstairs and I wanted to compare prices for carpet steam cleaners.

As it turned out, I bought a new steam cleaner. My old steamer is about twelve years old, and just wasn’t working properly anymore. My sister had broken a piece off when I let her use it and when I tried to push the steamer forward, it would just sort of skitter across the carpet. It made trying to steam clean very difficult.

So, I bought a new Bissel Pro-Heat 2X. I bought the 9500 model that has a thingie that blows warm onto the carpet itself so it speeds the drying process. It also has a clean shot thingie. Plus, it heats the water up 25 extra degrees, so the water doesn’t get cold while you’re steam cleaning. My old steamer did that too, but it didn’t heat the water up through the attachment hose as well; my new steamer does.

Anyhoo, I had just finished putting the steamer together when my MIL rang the doorbell. So, she visited for awhile and then wanted to take us to dinner at the good Chinese restaurant. So, we went to dinner, but ended up paying the tab because my husband insisted.

When we got back the TP and coffee issue had slipped my mind. I decided to try the new steam cleaner. I only did the hallway between the entry, kitchen, den, powder room and garage, but holeeeee shit, does that thing ever clean! With my old steamer, I’d have to use the spot scrubber brush for every little stain, but not with this one! I was amazed at what a great job this thing did.

After doing that, I sat down and watched TV. So, that was my exciting day. Today, I have to get the groceries and other stuff for our camping trip so we can pack tomorrow and be on the road by early Tuesday morning.

I’m going to try and rustle up some coffee, somehow, some way.

Damn, missed the edit windown. I did find coffee, thank goodness.

Thanks to this lovely little computer I just bought, I can indeed keep people updated. Today is the day to do the last stuff I have to do, as in wash all the clothes I wear a lot to pack them to go with me. The stuff I don’t wear much, or at least not in the summer, is going with me but I’m not washing it, it’s in bags and will stay there for the next few months or until it gets cold, anyway. This winter is going to be an adventure!

I think I’m going to take three days instead of two to Omaha, but it depends on traffic and how tired I am. I might not. I’ll play it by ear, my brother can deal if I’m a day late.

This move is a bit nuts, but I think it’s the good kind of nuts. I sure hope so, because all systems are GO and I’m outta here tomorrow morning!

Bobbio, sorry to hear that. I’m sure the family appreciates your efforts, but that still sucks.

Have a safe trip, White Rabbit. Take lots of pictures and be sure to check in with us. Be sure to wear clean, non-holey underwear. See? You’ve got a bunch of moms that’ll worry to death until you get to where you’re going.

Swampy will be proud to know that I found some TP out in the garage. Sure, it’s only one pack, but at least we’ll have a roll of TP for every bathroom, with one to spare. Still, I usually have the mega pack on hand, so it’s bad that we got this low.

39 and with a history of a triple bypass? This is not much consolation, but it really was a matter of time. That degree of heart disease in someone so young is not good. Take care of yourself today (and always, Vunder)–your job is not easy.
Am off to Ikea to spend MONEY. I know I said I’d do nothing, but this is the perfect time to go get this stuff for #1 son. And then I’m doing nothing–I checked out 7 murder mysteries from the lib yesterday after hospital work and my porch beckons. (plus, it is a rainy day here-no gardening to do and the porch smells musty in the rain).

I may make cake batter and just dip my fingers in it all day.

Our scattered thunderstorms have turned into a deluge. I guess I shouldn’t have watered. Or maybe it’s because I watered?

Took a nice little nap. Now it’s back to our regular programming.

Me? Causing problems here? I’d never do that!

hides all of swampy’s left shoes

Woo hoo, Sunday afternoon! Shhhh… no mention of what tomorrow brings.

FCM, that was definitely some weird dream!! Did you eat something out of the ordinary, or have an unusual … beerverage yesterday?! Glad to hear that FCD found the boat in another slip, btw.

Hope Swampbeer is enjoying his hash brown casserole. I sure wish I had some of his delicious 'nanner pudding!

I’m having a reaction to the tetanus shot I got on Friday. :frowning: Nothing major, but it’s sore, a bit red, swollen and it itches!

I was up early this morning; when my paper was delivered, I took it outside and read it while I sat on the patio. It’s still humid, but not as hot as yesterday, thankfully, so was fairly pleasant at 8 AM. I also watered my patio plants and even swept off the patio. Now I’m getting ready to go back out there for a bit; I think I’ll have some watermelon with me this time.

Enjoy your Sunday, all. Good thoughts and prayers to those who need them!

Bobbio, sorry to hear you lost one. That’s rough!

herby, injections suck. That reminds me Noor is due for her next round of vaccinations - she will be 4 months old tomorrow!

Well, another quiet day here. We went to MIL’s for lunch today and Noor put on her usual “scream when MIL so much as looks at me” routine. I swear, I am trying soooooo hard not to send “you irritate the crap out of me” vibes, but I think Noor’s radar is more sensitive than I counted on. I will just have to try harder to be nice and think nice thoughts, but it is sooooo difficult when the woman is such a PITA! Just last week, she contradicted herself within a couple of hours. She stopped by to visit one morning and told me the singlet (aka sleeveless cotton vest) Noor was wearing wasn’t warm enough. A few hours later, we went over there for lunch and MIL then told me that it was too hot for her! :dubious: So now, I am practising my polite smile, followed by doing whatever I was planning on doing anyway. I have also stopped telling hubby what a moron she is, which has resulted in an exponential improvement in general marital relations!

It is now about 8:40pm here and I think I’ma gonna go to bed. I think I have a massive accrued sleep deficit, caused by my staying up until 10:30pm most nights (no point going to sleep before HRH’s last night feed at 10pm) and then waking up at 5:30am when HRH decides she’s ready for breakfast. Not to mention the 3:30am, 4am and 4:30am grumps that Noor sometimes gets. I know from experience that I need 8-9 hours sleep a night to feel good, so I probably need to sleep for about 36 hours straight to get my sleep clock all sorted out. Like that is gonna happen any time in the next 18 months!!! :frowning:

sneaks quietly over to LOUNE and ties his shoelaces together in a BIG knot

I’m not wearing shoes.

:stuck_out_tongue:
paddles Dotty with the wiffle bat

Seriously, bDotty**, I can send ninjas.

Nap before work, or wash dishes? No contest.

Monster break! I actually only did one dog and one monster. I think when I return to the studio, I’m going to paint underglaze on the monster and the dog I did last week. Then if I still feel up to it, I’ll decorate the other monster.

I want a snack. Oreos would be nice. Wish I had some.

**tarra ** - I didn’t eat or drink anything weird. I have no idea what is dredging the weirdness out of the depths of my subconscious. I wish I could find a way to blame swampy, but even that’s a stretch… :stuck_out_tongue:

Off to forage in the pantry.

Shopping, errands done. Girls upstairs dressing, me and Child’s BF on couch - him watching some crap on TV, me Doping.

Off to play tourist downtown prior to Family Night thing.

What the hell happened to my morning?! Ack! It’s almost gone!

So much to do, seemingly not enough time!

Nearly all the errands are run, which is good since we have some Weather moving in. And yes, that’s Weather with a capital W; it looks really nasty out west of us. So now I’m going to stay in the house and see if I can finally get the sweat to dry on me. And then I’ll take a nice shower and get all wet again. :dubious:

Your MIL does indeed sound like a serious PITA, Dotty. I’m very grateful that I never had to deal with a nearby MIL when my kids were little; they were far enough away that the grandparents only saw them occasionally, so they couldn’t do the kind of blow-by-blow criticism your MIL sounds like she enjoys doing. Smiling politely and doing what you were going to do anyway is the best practice no matter who is giving you annoying advice about your kids, though; sounds like you’ve learned that lesson nice and early!

Time to do something constructive. Like finish my laundry so Lapin Blanc can have the washer.

**BooFae **- you can get Newcastle here on tap pretty frequently, Bass a little less so. I always get jealous when I see your pub tally though - what an awesome selection! There isn’t a proper brewpub that’s decently local to me, so I’m forced to go to chain restaurants when I’m out. There is one restaurant that brews its own beer, which is decent - they’re the ones that carry the Oud Bruin and the lambic, as well as a few other selections that I couldn’t get to the bottom of in one night. Next week I’ll be in the the middle of microbrewery central though!

I ask for pints sometimes and get funny looks. Like last night I asked for a pint of Sam Adams, and the waitress said, “Well it comes in 16oz and 32oz”. I suppose they aren’t teaching measures in school like they used to.

Beer snob! Beer snob!

Ooh…it’s gotta be in a “pint”. Look at you! Fancy girl!

Heh. I’ll stop now.
