Is that why you hate beer - you’ve only ever had the kind that comes in forties?

Is “forties” slang for “moose’s penis”?
I’m an ardent supporter of Billy Dee Williams and the fine liquid wares he peddles.
Gee, back in the old days when I was in school 16 oz equalled a pint. I guess they don’t teach that no more, huh?
We got some major Weather here a bit ago - thunder boomers and a torrential downpour. And according to weather radar, more is moving this way. YAY! The doggies don’t like it - they’re underfoot moreso than usual.
I did the underglaze on Isaac’s dish and camoflaged the boo boos on Rusty’s dish. Then I made my first dog jar into a camoflaged dog - multi-earth-tone blotches all over his little clay self. Hope it comes out looking reasonably like I want.
Crab legs are steaming - king crab for **FCD ** and snow crab for me. Yummm! Can’t wait till they’re done. <insert drooly smilie here> Afterwards, I may go paint the “girl” monster, or I may do that another day. Depends on how I feel.
Tentative plans for sailing on Saturday, just for fun - what a concept!!
I know, right? It’s not like I asked for .001984 of a hogshead of beer. Though I may start…
Had a lovely 2 days with VWife all over my ass. Since the VunderLair refinance was a fizzle, meaning no new kitchen, we settled for a portable dishwasher and new faucet to connect to.
Bought all the crap yesterday. Put in new faucet and setup the dishmauler today. Mama’s now happy. I’d rather have to deal with DOAs than the idiotic plumbing The Former Denizen left us…
I don’t know what dinner is yet, but it won’t require eat to prepare. FCM, stop hogging the rain. Living in The Dismal [del]Swamp[/del] Desert sucks.
Sorry, BBBobbio, but my yard has been crunchy far too long. We need every drop we can get. I was just commenting to my sweetie that if this rain continues all night, by the end of the week, we’ll probably have to mow!! Can you imagine?!?!?
The crab legs were yummmmmmy. I’m about to scoop up some ice cream. No more clay play today - I just don’t feel like it. My weekend disappeared way too fast and I intend to pout about it a while. <sigh>
It can be crab leg tiem now pleez?
Lack of rain around here hasn’t kept our neighbor across the street from still getting on his Hank Hill* twice a week and riding it around his yard anyway.
We got some rain but no thunderboomers, which is fine by me since Rusty freaked out a whole lot less as a result. He was actually calm enough to dance for his dinner, which wasn’t all that big a surprise since we got a roasted chicken at Sam’s yesterday and ain’t nothing better than a Sam’s roasted chicken in Rusty’s feeble mind.
We even got Lapin Blanc’s car pretty much loaded up before the rain arrived – at least the critical stuff, like the TV, which wouldn’t do as well getting wet. Since she has a pretty big TV, we decided to trade TVs (at least for now – she may want to trade back next year when we drive out to visit her with her stuff out of storage) with the TV I have in the bedroom, which is a nice TV but just enough smaller than it’s a lot easier to maneuver. So I went to unhook it – and discovered that dear, dear Emily at some point sat atop it and managed to hork down the back of it, completely out of sight until I was actually leaning over it to unplug it. Stoopid cat! At least dried cat hork is easier to clean up than wet.

In our family parlance, a “Hank Hill” is a lawn tractor that is at least five times more than is needed for a postage stamp-sized lawn; from the cartoon show King of the Hill, for those who didn’t grasp the reference.
Children, let Taters near tpless disaster be a lesson to all of you. Always. always always have plenty of toilet paper in stock. It’s cheap. It’s plentiful. There’s just no excuse not to have plenty of tp. Now everyone go check your stock of tp and make sure no one is runnin’ low.
BBBobbio sorry you lost one last night. Like others have said though, y’all did everything you could do. Oh and good for you for doin’ what you do.
I did indeed enjoy me some corned beef casserole today. The ‘nanner puddin’ got et up too. Hee! The person in line behind ACBG this mornin’ whilst we were pilin’ up our plates slapped him on the wrist and told him he couldn’t have any puddin’ cause he has his own personal one at home. There were six plates of deviled aigs there today. Not that I’m complainin’ cause I consider deviled aigs one of nature’s perfect foods, but six different people bringin’ aigs this mornin’ was kinda unusual.
This afternoon we were over at some friends’ house to celebrate a birthday. Some beerverages and snacky type food. That was nice too.
Now I’m home hopin’ all this cloudiness outside will produce some rain. I need rain so my sinuses will stop achin’ cause sump’n’s got em all stirred up.
Ok, off to mess around a bit.
Raining and thunderbooming here as well. There should be a rainbow somewhere, since the sun is shining in the west.
Went to Ikea-don’t do that on a weekend. Wall to wall people with screaming babies and post-menopausal women who stop stockstill in the middle of aisles and don’t move for love or money. Why do they do that? and the old men hog the catalogues…
Got #1 son a dresser and a weird bookshelf–hope he likes the bookshelf. All of it resides in the car due to it all weighing too much for me to move or heft far. Getting it into my car was a job–broke 3 nails and jammed a finger. Probably displaced my uterus as well. Came home and took a nap.
Am I truly home alone if the husband keeps calling? (3 times today).
When we were out shopping earlier, Swampy, because of you, I asked if they needed any toilet paper when we walked past a big pile of it. g
The car is loaded, except for a few last-minute things, like my betta Spike, who is going to be really pissed off at me for the next week. Oh well. He’ll ride in the back seat on the floor, and should be okay.
Have I mentioned that while I like the living somewhere new, I absolutely hate the process of moving? I am not looking forward to this drive, even though I’ve got music and stuff to keep me going. It’s a hell of a long way from Annapolis to Idaho!
Good luck and stay safe. I’ve made a move back and forth from Detroit to Buffalo a few times and that was only 4 or so hours.
I’ve moved similar distances a couple of times, but never on my own. That’s what makes this one either really scary or an adventure. I’m trying to look at it as an adventure.
You want an adventure? Bring a tape recorder and pick up hitchhikers.
Be safe out there Alice!
Also, I trust they picked up a few packs of tp just to be on the safe side? :dubious:
rigs I’ve been in an Ikea store twice in my life. Both times I ate meat balls in the cafeteria. They were pretty good. Why you ask? Cause I was hungry and the meat balls are good. I wanted to rearrange some of their furniture displays but I was with spoilsports who wouldn’t let me. Some people are just no fun at all!
I like flopping on the bed displays in swanky stores. That’s always met with prompt disapproval from the female birth giver.
lapin blanc: He got Bud Light!
Spike: And an axe!
It’s 10:30, and it’s still 87 degrees. It’s supposed to be near 100 degrees Amurikin all week(about 38 metric furin degrees)
BBBobbio, I’m sorry you lost a patient.
swampy, I always panic and buy more TP when I get down to 30 rolls.
Time for food ab beerverages(Pete’s Wicked Ale tonight).
rigs, you had boomers? I was on the lakefront between Millenium Park & Soldier Field all afternoon, until about 9:30 and only a few drops.
Ok, nighttime.
::snore ::
Stressed. So stressed. I really don’t need to be going to Toronto this week. Oh wait, I do. Gah.
At least I won’t have to be near my brother for a week. Lessens the chance of fratricide being committed.
Haze, your guy sounds like a keeper. I hope he continues to impress.
ETA: unrelated to the above probably. Sorry you’re feeling stress. I hope it eases up soon.
swampy, that’s what’s amazing about you! (just one of the many)
Mork, glad your computer got fixed. Every time I hear one of your stories, I do a little prayer that mine doesn’t do anything similar. . .the breaking part, I mean.
BooFae, looking forward to the next MMP.
FCM, those really are some dreams you’re having.
**
Taters**, that steam cleaner sounds cool! I don’t even need one but it sounded so cool, I actually thought about it.
Dotty, sorry to hear about the MIL.
gt, wow, what a lot of work you’re doing. I’m glad it’s looking good.
**
swampy**, I’m all over it. I get nervous when I have less than 48 rolls of TP.
hey, doggio, we have something in common except my limit is higher than yours.
Dotty, good morning!! doing the ~wave~
Here’s my morning/evening song for the day for you:
[Karen Carpenter]I’ve been so many places in my life and time
I’ve sung a lot of songs I’ve made some bad rhyme[/Karen Carpenter]
Just because it’s a pretty song.
Everybody else, good night!
