EEK! I sounded a lot more obnoxious/hostile there than I meant to. Sorry, not my intention. I’m really not that annoyed, and certainly not offended, but I was caught a bit off guard. Sorry.
…And I just took it again. It looks like things have shifted a bit:
Secular Humanism: 100%
Unitarian Universalism: 99%
Liberal quakers: 89%
That’s odd, kinda. It would make sense to me if UU was on top. I may be agnostic, but I like having a spiritual/religious life. Quakerism fits that niche nicely for me; I like UUs, but church services aren’t really my thing.
Interesting, though…
- Secular Humanism (100%)
- Unitarian Universalism (97%)
- Neo-Pagan (72%)
- Nontheist (72%)
- Taoism (48%)
I deleted any entry that involved belief in a deity or rebirth because I don’t believe in either. I left in Neo-Pagan because it’s the kind of religion where you can write your own ticket and nobody will ever disagree with you, so I’d do just fine.

Hmm,… a whole lotta UUs and Liberal Quakers in peoples’ first three or so. Mine:
- Theravada Buddhism (100%)
- Liberal Quakers (97%)
- Unitarian Universalism (95%)
- Secular Humanism (93%)
- Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (91%)
I wonder what I marked differently to get Theravada Buddhism on top. I’m atheist (no, not agnostic) and I’m surprised to see Liberal Quaker ahead of Secular Humanism. Further down Nontheist came in (83%) directly before LDS (76%).
And down at the bottom, Scientology (35%) edged out both Islam and Catholicism (both 34%).
I don’t know…
- Jedi (100%)
- Hunter/Gatherer (96%)
- Orthodox Miscellaneous (94%)
- Mainline to Liberal Numismatics (89%)
- TV & VCR Repair (79%)
- Theravada Buddhism (100%)
- Mahayana Buddhism (99%)
- Unitarian Universalism (98%)
- Liberal Quakers (88%)
- Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (84%)
This is pretty well dead on.
- Unitarian Universalism (100%)
- Liberal Quakers (95%)
- Neo-Pagan (94%)
- Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (93%)
- New Age (92%)
I tried it but honestly couldn’t answer most of the questions as the answers were too specific (in a kind of ‘have you stopped beating your wife yet’ way - not answerable with a simple yes/no)
How long have you been saving that one up?
I disliked that they grouped “don’t know” it with “no”.
Wow I think I’m the only hard core athiest here
- Neo-Pagan (100%)
- Unitarian Universalism (93%)
- Liberal Quakers (91%)
- Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (89%)
- Mahayana Buddhism (85%)
But, dammit, I wanted to be Ancient Roman. Their gods and goddesses were fun!
- Orthodox Quaker (99%)
- Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (85%)
- Eastern Orthodox (81%)
- Roman Catholic (81%)
- Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (81%)
Looks like it fits in well with my Episcopal self. I kinda like the idea of being an Eastern Orthodox Quaker.
My Personal top-ten:
- Unitarian Universalism (100%)
- Liberal Quakers (95%)
- Neo-Pagan (90%)
- Reform Judaism (85%)
- Secular Humanism (84%)
- Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (80%)
- New Age (78%)
- Bahá’í Faith (71%)
- Mahayana Buddhism (65%)
- Theravada Buddhism (62%)
Amusingly enough- the faith I was raised in gets a mere 25%- best not let my meme find out!
- Roman Catholic (25%)
Actually #4, sounds good. I checked out #1’s link, but it was too much like Religion Light (Tastes Greay, Less Judgemental).
Neo-Pagan?
Results above 70%:
- Secular Humanism (100%)
- Unitarian Universalism (99%)
- Liberal Quakers (88%)
- Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (85%)
- Theravada Buddhism (74%)
- Nontheist (73%)
I retook the quiz a second time with minor modifications, but the top 3 were unchanged. Both times, Roman Catholic came dead last. This is a problem. It is time for my annual performance review… and I work for Catholic Charities.
- Secular Humanism (100%)
- Unitarian Universalism (98%)
- Nontheist (94%)
- Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (89%)
- Liberal Quakers (81%)
Even though I went to a 23. Roman Catholic (30%) school
…and last of all was *27. Jainism (11%) *
Not entirely sure how ‘Unitarian Universalism’ got ahead of Non-Theist
It’s on a religious website. They’re not just going to admit that people can be atheists. Even a Unitarian would be better than that.
Grouping all atheists and agnostics together doesn’t make much sense, since there’s as much variation in aths and agns as there is in all the other religions.
- Neo-Pagan (100%)
- Unitarian Universalism (92%)
- Reform Judaism (88%)
- Liberal Quakers (82%)
- New Age (80%)
- Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (79%)
- Secular Humanism (79%)
- Mahayana Buddhism (73%)
I always get Neo-Pagan at the top. Maybe I should convert…
- New Thought (100%)
- Unitarian Universalism (92%)
- Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (91%)
- Scientology (89%)
- Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (88%)
- Mahayana Buddhism (87%)
- Sikhism (86%)
- Reform Judaism (85%)
- Liberal Quakers (81%)
- Neo-Pagan (79%)
I rather like Neo-Pagan and Mahayana Buddhism, but * Scientology*? That was a surprise!
- Unitarian Universalism (100%)
- Secular Humanism (98%)
- Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (85%)
- Liberal Quakers (84%)
- Nontheist (81%)
All this time I thought I was an atheist. I guess Bart Simpson winged me.
