Best Antiperspirant/Deodorant?

What is your favorite antiperspirant/deodorant and why?

I am looking for one that works well, isn’t sticky or gets gunk on my clothes.

Certain Dri works great, smells like nothing at all, and you put it on at night so nothing gets on your clothes at all.

I only like Clear Solids. I hate the white gunk , and the Gel ones feel weird to me. So, the best smelling one I’ve found is Right Guard “Cool Peak”.

Gillette’s “Clinical Shield” series of anti-perspirants are likely the best I’ve used. They’re a bit pricey though, so I stick with their Clear Shield line, which work great for me.

Well, there’s a dfference between antiperspirants and deodorants, obviously, and you probably want something containing both, but I will offer my input anyway.

I’ve used the “crystal” deodorant for years now and love it (contains no antiperspirant, though). If you don’t sweat profusely or mind the occaisional damp spot, nothing I have found works as well on odor. (so many of us spend most of our time in AC or other conditions where we don’t really sweat all that much anyway, and some sweat more than others, natch)

And of course, no visible or feelable residue of any kind…just wet it, (or they make it as a liquid roll on, but much more costly than the solid form, which lasts darn near forever) apply, and it prevents B.O. for the entire day or longer (by inhibiting the growth of the microbes which cause odor by colonizing sweat).

I’ve known people who use it on their feet as well, to prevent odor there (never had that issue myself, but they swear it works just as well there as under the arms).

First I went with Certain Dri, but it really made my pits itch. Now I use Clinical Strength Secret. Works great…and I used to sweat a LOT…I mean shirt-ruining sweat! I don’t even really think about it any more. Goes on right before bed.

Used to be Lynx, but I swear there is a deliberate and measured conspiracy to provide less and less actual product inside each successive container. I seem to be able to run out in much less time than I used to.

If you can look past the adolescent ads, the Axe branded deodorant/antiperspirant is a great product. I’ve been using it for a couple years and always get compliments from the girlfriend on its nice yet not overpowering smell. Also, its high market penetration ups the chance you’ll find it when you run out on your next business trip to Nebraska.

I use Certain Dri and add Secret once it’s dry to avoid the itch. Secret doesn’t work nearly as well as Certain Dri, but it gives that fresh/girly feeling so I consider both essential.

I also like Certain Dry. I use the roll on one before bed and I don’t sweat at all. It’s strong and don’t use it after shaving or you will regret it.

Certain Dri does make me itch if I use it every day, so I use it every other day and it works just as well.

I’ve been using the Mitchum for women for at least 15 years. I use the gel, and a pretty small amount, at that. If I can’t find the unscented women’s one, I buy the men’s. They work the same for me.

Degree Ultra Clear (for women - no knowledge of the men’s product).

I like Mitchum’s men’s unscented better than anything else I’ve found. I can never find the women’s version here.

I know a woman who uses Mitchum and doesn’t care whether it’s men’s or women’s. I looked at the ingredients, and although I don’t remember its name they have the same amount of whatever the active ingredient is.

Right Guard Unscented works best for me. A spritz under the toes after a shower eliminates foot odor as well.

Jason makes an excellent deodorant (not antiperspirant) scented with Tea Tree oil. I also love the “naturally fresh” stick, which smells like fresh laundry. I’m not worried about alleged aluminum deposits in my body from conventional antiperspirants, nor do I suffer from any sort of allergy. I simply prefer deodorants because I do not sweat heavily, and have found that not restricting my body’s main heat vent makes me feel cooler all day long, a handy advantage in the Alabama heat.

I’ve been using Old Spice Sweat Defense, a stick type product, with some success here lately and usually have problems with under arm perspiration. Used to use Sure aerosol, Arrid Extra Dry, even Mitchum stick didn’t do as well as this stuff. Count me as impressed. Now I’ve jinxed myself.

I don’t wear anti-perspirant because it just makes me sweat far more everywhere else. So I am limited to deodorant.

Having said that, old spice is awesome. No residue that I can tell and the different odors of old spice are all pretty good, like a very subtle cologne almost.
