No Canadian Singer were among these artists.

There are a LOT of good ones and very few bad ones on this list. I had to limit my votes to my three absolute favorites, though: “I’m Still Standing,” “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’,” and “Say Say Say.”

Yes this is a very, very strong year for music. Most are really good or moderately good, barely any bad ones.

I voted for a lot but I will break my vote in categories.
At the top are The Police, Spandau Ballet, Musical Youth and Elton John.
Then there Michael Jackson, his duet with Sir Paul, Toto, Eurythmics, Culture Club, The Fixx, Madness, Billy Idol and David Bowie.
“King of Pain” got my vote, not the overplayed “Every Breath You Take”. MJ got my vote but only “Starting Something” and “Say Say Say”, “Billie Jean” and “Beat It” are played to death and tiring.
Elton John’s 80’s and 90’s material is underrated.

Another great year, indeed.

Hungry Like The Wolf
I’m Still Standing
White Wedding
Total Eclipse Of The Heart
Our House

And I could perhaps have added a couple more.

Pass The Dutchie, however is one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard. I hated it back then and still hate it now.

I see where you are coming from, songs with kids on vocals tend to be grating. But it’s kind of catchy, not that it’s a great song. It’s fun.
