Best movie for Valentine's Day?

Alright, the title pretty much sums it up. Whats the best movie to watch on Valentine’s Day? It has to be romantic, but not a chick-flick. And it should fill the viewer up with happy/loving emotions.

Mine would be Scruples

Declan

Sid & Nancy

Okay, just kidding.

How about True Romance, A Walk In The Clouds, What Dreams May Come, Can’t Buy Me Love, Officer And A Gentleman, or Dirty Dancing?

Amelie

Yeah, her head will be on your shoulder when Alabama and Virgil meet at the hotel.

Enchanted April is great for filling the viewer with happy/loving emotions.

Lost in Translation?
Roxanne?
The Truth About Cats and Dogs?
Casablanca?

just brainstorming
Brian

Say Anything.

Best. date. movie. ever.

Double Feature: In The Company Of Men and Dead Ringers

Sorry - I’ve seen this question posted many times on various message boards over the years, and it’s become something of a tradition for me to make suggestions out of sheer perversity whenever I have the opportunity.

My work here is done.

Roman Holiday

Like Water for Chocolate, hands-down. Of course, I don’t know what your non-chick flick criteria are, but my then-BF had no complaints.

Second choice: The Unbearable Lightness of Being.

First thing I thought of is Some Like it Hot, which starts off with a reference to the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre.

Lost In Translation. So utterly romantic and beautiful that it can drive a cynical male teenager like me to tears.

Buffalo '66

Duh!!!

CHOCOLAT???

:smack:

Before Sunrise!

Truly romantic IMHO

I have to say, that’s a damned good choice. Takes place in France and everything. (-:

Perhaps other movies that take place in France would be natural choices…

French Kiss?

Sabrina (another love story, 15 minutes takes place in Gay Pari)?

Always, with Richard Dreyfus. Very touching.

Well, the best movie going experience I had on feb 14th was seeing The Gift but…single and slightly bitter made it a great choice. Not romantic, however.

How about ** If Lucy Fell** Romance, suicide pact, the best point ever made with a phone ever…something for everyone

I really think Hope Floats and The Goodbye Girl (new or old versions)

Kudos for thinking so far ahead.
