Best of the Rest of the Top 40: 2007

Sorry I missed a day on this one. Lost track of time.

The year is now 2007, and in a rare occurrence for the post-1991 era, I had to go to #43 to get 25 songs for this list (including one carryover from last year). We’re closing in on the present day now, and as with the best #1 singles series, once we’ve caught up, we’ll do best of the decade, and then best of all time, and then we’ll pit the winner against “Satisfaction”, the Official SDMB-Approved Greatest Number-One Jam of All Time, to determine the Undisputed SDMB-Approved Greatest Top 40 Single Ever Record.

What’s your favorite?

Fall Out Boy ahead of Fergie, Nickelback and few others.

Unlike the previously couple of years, this year’s selections are quite forgettable, with one exception. The only song I recognize and like is “The Sweet Escape.”

In dead-ass last place, Carrie Underwood’s song is even worse than any bullshit that Nickelback and their clone (Daughtry) could ever come up with. Her boyfriend probably cheated on her because she’s such a cunt.

I actually listened to the ones I don’t know from this poll to try to find something to vote for. Hells teeth, this is a terrible year. No vote.

I just went through and caught myself up with all the “best of the rest” polls (going back to the '60s). And I am, frankly, surprised at how pedestrian, nay, predictable the collective Dope musical taste is.

My thoughts exactly. Worst year ever.
