Time to catch up to the current decade with the 2010 charts, a chart which, IMO, is better than the #1s were this year. There are exactly 25 songs qualifying for this poll.
Your love, your love, your love is my drug. Kesha receives a perfect score in the world-famous Ponch8 Music Rating System with this song. There was absolutely no contest for my vote. In addition, Kesha joins Stevie Wonder (1974), the Spice Girls (1997), and Eminem (2002) by winning my vote in the #1 poll and in the Best of the Rest of the Top 40 poll in the same year.
Consolation prize for best non-Kesha song goes to “Sexy Bitch.”
In dead-ass last place with an AUTOMATIC ZERO score is “Dynamite,” produced by rapist motherfucker Dr. Luke. It even finishes behind “Hey Soul Sister,” one of the worst songs ever.
Went with the Timbaland/Timberlake collab but it was not by far a easy decision. I can practically vote for many of these like Iyaz, Bruno Mars, Jason Derulo, Lady Gaga, Pitbull, Enrique, Kesha.
Good year and I have no qualms about Lady Gaga leading this poll, she was on fire at the time.
I voted for the winner so far (Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance).
“Hey Soul Sister” will forever be associated with my sleepless night in the hospital room by myself, with my fractured arm in a sling, doped on Percocet and other drugs, trying to ignore the pain, and seeing that video repeated over and over when there’s nothing else on television.
