Getting close to the finish line. It was between Tame Impala, Cloud Nothings and Kendrick Lamar for me, but in the end I went with Kendrick (not enough hip hop love in these polls).
Not to worry – I immediately picked Kendrick, too, even before I saw your post. Frank Ocean and Jack White were also I the running for me.
Oof. This is where I begin to lose the plot musically. I haven’t heard a majority of the albums here. I’ll put in a vote for Tame Impala, but it’s not a well-educated vote.
That’s where I’m happy I already voted for De La Soul, Lauryn Hill, The Roots and Mos Def because I couldn’t get into this album.
Since Godspeed You! Black Emperor didn’t make this list (boo), I voted for Swans instead. Post rock gets my vote for 2012.
