The guy is really stupid. Calling the police was even dumber than letting Nacho get in the Hummer.
I’m curious what pharmaceuticals he’s stealing from his company. Oxy?
Episode was set in 2004. BB begins in 2008.
My guess is that knowing where IT guy lives gives Nacho leverage. Holding his treasured baseball card collection adds to that leverage. Perhaps he returns them, a few at a time, instead of cash for future drug deliveries.
Yeah, it was clear both that IT guy is emotional about his cards, and that he may well have mentioned this more than once to Nacho. So Nacho has a hold over IT guy that could result in IT guy turning over drugs in exchange for the return of cards–and also in IT guy following other instruction from Nacho (such as to steal security badges, report on security measures and codes, etc.). Nacho could be hoping for direct access to the pharma facility.
I think you’ve figured it out. He’s concerned about them being bent, so Nacho can threaten to do damage to the cards.
I’m thinking that Hummer guy will try to hire Mike to either kill Nacho or at least steal back the cards and that Jimmy we be involved somehow.
I was thinking that the most obvious way for things to proceed is that the cops figure out what Hummer guy is up to and arrest him. He immediately cracks and tells them everything he knows, implicating Mike. Mike then hires/pressures Jimmy into representing him, sucking Jimmy back into that life.
But it’s always hard to predict Vince Gilligan, he’s tricksy, so I’ll just watch and enjoy.
I’ll spoiler this since it was in the previews and some people may avoid them.
In the preview of next week’s episode, it shows Hummuer guy pulling up to Mike’s booth at the parking lot and then exclaiming in surprise “what are you doing here”, as if it’s a total coincidence that he’s trying to park where Mike works. Maybe it’s not a coincidence. Maybe he’s turned informant, is wearing a wire, and is there to start a conversation.
I believe he mentioned oxycontin (delayed release oxycodone) in season 1. Very popular back then. Responsible for a lot of unintentional opioid overdose deaths. A number of my patients came to prison for supplying it to someone (not always ‘dealing’, but rather ‘sharing’ it in one case) who then took it and died.
I took the baseball card heist as Nacho broke in and stole the drug money. Nerd discovered the drug money gone and realized that without it, he can’t afford the hummer. He created the break-in story so he can cash in his insurance policy (which he for sure would have) on the baseball cards. He needs the cash.
Unless Nacho has reason to believe that Daniel suspects him as responsible for the burglary, he’s not killing the golden goose at all. If anything, he’s motivating the goose to keep laying golden eggs. (And getting one drug deal for free.)
Is suspect Dufous will end up in jail before he can be used by Nacho.
Funny how Mike’s granddaughter never ages during that whole time period.
She should move to Springfield.
Agree with this - there’s no reason he would suspect Nacho of the burglary. Nacho checked out the registration card surreptitiously while Hummer Guy was looking away. As far as he knows it was just a random break-in.
Although it wasn’t clear what happened with the hidden stash, I thought the cops were going to find the pills still in there and bust him on the spot (the unusual clearing being caused by him immediately checking it after he came home to find he’d been robbed, which anyone with a secret stash would automatically do). Since it was empty, the most likely event is that the burglars did indeed find the stash and took his pills/cash as well.
Whatever ends up happening to him, it’s entirely clear that he’s fucked. That fate became clear the instant he didn’t listen to Mike.
How much money do you think the bill was for Viktor and Giselle’s bar tab?
$50 a shot x 3 people x 3 rounds seen = $450. Plus they had other appetizers/food, so let’s add another $50 for easy math. That’s $500 we see on screen.
Even though they emptied the bottle, we don’t know how much there was to begin with. Also, Ken, Viktor and Giselle weren’t terribly wasted, so they couldn’t have had too many rounds, right?
Looking forward episode 2 tonight. Kind of cheering for Nacho.
It’s tomorrow night.
Damn! You’re right. I guess it depends what time zone you’re in though.
