Re: sitting on pies – Penn Jillette told an interesting story on his podcast this week about sitting on pies. (Episode 209 - Why Don’t You Sit On a Pie?) Now, he didn’t claim to have invented the meme, but he did in fact set up a photo shoot of a (naked) actress sitting in pies as sort of a practical joke back in 1997. A pretty funny story that I’m sure made the rounds back then…if it wasn’t the inspiration for Squat Cobbler, it’s a very weird coincidence.
Brie Larson, most recent Best Actress Academy Award winner, sat on pies on the United States of Tara - few years ago. Clothed of course. Perhaps it’s more of a thing than many of us realize.
Actually, I take pride in the fact that I was completely unaware of the practice. 
I just had a memory of the scene in “Caddyshack”, where the Smailes kid had thrown up through the sunroof of Dr. Beeper’s Porsche, and then the doctor and his girlfriend entered the car and sat down without noticing.
