Better Call Saul season 6

Watching that actress, I kept thinking ‘Is that Allison Janney?’ or Rhea?

Yes. And it was tossed in a box labeled as trash. (Amazingly I caught that one on my own) Apparently the code is simple to decipher and people have done so. In the Episode one shot they had Nacho’s name crossed out which is a great Easter Egg. There is also a contact named Peanut Butter.

She also showed up last season in the opening to Wexler vs. Goodman, drunkenly trying to pick up the teenage Kim probably hours late after some band event/practice. Kim refuses the ride and stubbornly trudges miles home toting a cello and looking fierce. Mom definitely left some unfortunate scars on her daughter.

Saul is the morally loose, clever bad boy who gets away with it, a little like mom. But he is also the fiercely determined little guy who never gives up and refuses to be cowed or beaten, like Kim. And Saul always supports and is devoted to Kim, unlike her mom. Socially programmed catnip.

Slower episode, but unlike some I’m fine with a slow set-up and I was never bored. Well, a little by Lalo-in-Deutschland. But the cartel stuff has always been my second-tier plot line, so I’m okay with the episode overall.

Me, too.

And the writing was superb. So much insight into Kim was provided in just a handful of minutes.

The kid who played young Kim did an excellent job too with mannerisms and facial expressions.

The earrings that Mom stole for Kim are the same ones Kim has been wearing all season.

The young Kim scene really helped me with believing her heel turn.

Lalo being a Mary Sue has run its course, I’m ready for that to end.

Howard’s ruined marriage really drive home, if you were on the fence, what a piece of shit Jimmy is.

Did Jimmy’s actions alone ruin the marriage? I don’t think she knows about the hookers or any of the other shennanigans, just the bowling balls? I mean, I’m not defending Jimmy & Kim’s plan to ruin Howard, who did stick up for Jimmy (not enough but some) several times and genuinely admired him but… what evidence did I miss that Jimmy ruined Howard’s marriage . I may honestly be forgetting something but I don’t think we have that information yet.

No, I don’t think Jimmy ruined Howard’s marriage, but a crazy person destroying your property and sense of safety in your home isn’t a good time. Jimmy clearly doesn’t give a shit about the collateral damage he’s doing.

Speculation on why Jimmy needed drugs from the vet? I assume it was just a test run that night and he’ll use again on D-Day to whatever end?

I thought they were planning on slipping Howard a mickey with the drug.

This is what I came in to comment about. The actress’ voice and speaking style was spot-on. I thought for sure that was Rhea in a wig, prosthetics, make-up, etc. I had to pause the show and look up who was playing her.

Yeah, I think the idea is that they’ve used the $20K and the actor to fake a payoff between Saul and the judge, for Howard to find out about. Howard will confront them about it in court, but they’ll slip him the drugs beforehand, so he’ll just look like a maniac.

Did Saul already have a Zafiro Añejo cork/bottle topper? Or is he still yet to purchase this bottle?

And while on about the S6E1 opening sequence, we see that Saul possessed Dr. Caldera’s black book - and the code to read it yet not included was the Vacuum repair business card.

They had one from, I think, Ken. I know Kim kept it in her desk at Schweikart & Cokely; it was the only thing she took from the office when she resigned.

Isn’t Peanut Butter a character on Bojack Horseman? Is there a crossover episode coming up?

From S6E1 opening sequence:

Dr. Caldera’s coded black book. Briefly paged through then tossed in the box with the balls to the right.

It wasn’t just drugs. The vet applied something to Jimmy’s face. Is the idea that he’s supposed to look like Howard beat him up?

This is the part I find puzzling. They are taking this to the extreme of quite possibly destroying the man’s life.

Not just Howard’s life. Kim chose at the end of the episode to give up a big, legitimate opportunity to help Jimmy when he saw that the judge had a broken arm.
