Feel better, doggio.
Pop tarts are NOT gross and would be a much better breakfast than this surprisingly tasteless Jimmy Dean ‘healthy’ breakfast sandwich that I’m eating.
Also, Spaghettios aren’t gross either.
I did too much walking at school yesterday and I’m kind of ouchy and grouchy this morning.
Never wrote on one of these before, so for me it’s a first.
phouka I am sorry to hear about your troubles. It is impossible to logically confront the logic free, a problem I have faced and am currently facing now. Though I am divorcing I am still my soon to be ex-wife’s best friend. I am torn between honored and pissed, trying to lean towards honored in my goal to ‘do it right.’
Sounds like your efforts to support your mom are the best bang for the buck.
And yes, yay for babies! My two kids are 13 and 12 now (Irish twins, 15 months apart) and though the past few years have been tough I am enjoying getting close to them again. I absolutely enjoyed all things about having babies, though I am content to let them be memories now.
For me I am stuck in Charlotte VA at the George Huguely murder trial, an event of big news in DC, Baltimore and most of Virginia. In short, a University of VA lacrosse player rich boy is alleged to have murdered his lacrosse player girlfriend in a drunken rage. Very monied families, so everyone has the best of lawyers. I am running the satellite truck working with two very good coworkers for two weeks, or however long the trial is. It’s been a nice break from the routine, was interviewed Sunday by local tv about how big a deal the trial is.
We’re expecting snow today. Yay.
Welcome, 2gigch1. Stick around. We get silly here, too, not just vent-y or news-y.
You’ll need a nickname (it’s traditional). I suggest “giggity”
Just about to go across the hall and see my littlest ones. The doctor says I can probably go home tomorrow, although there will be a lot travelling- Mr. Lissar and I will split it up.
(((((Phouka)))))
My step-MiL told me about a neat ice cream recipe. Doesn’t need a machine, and you whip cream and add condensed milk and flavourings. Sounds yummy. I’ll make it. In my spare time.
even if you don’t, Li-Li, please post the recipe. kthx.
Spare time??? Look, **LiLi **made a joke!
If I may ask, for those of us who don’t do facebook (am I the only one?) what are the baby numbers? Besides, 2 I mean - I know there are 2 of them… And when will the boys get to meet their sisters?
Back from the garage - I was talking to the service manager about cruises and cars and cats - he’s a nice guy. Both our car guys are nice guys - one was doing the oil change and the other was entertaining me. I should bake them some cookies.
Next on the agenda - eye exam at noon. I’ll just surf till then - no sense in starting anything important.

I’m back… again!
Finished preparing my GIGANTIC lunch for 8 people. :dubious: Now the food is warming in the oven and I’m just waiting until it’s time to deliver.
I have a dinner tonight, too. It’s going to be a bit of a relay event. First I prepare the food and drive it downtown. Then, my friend takes the food and delivers it to its destination which is about 50 minutes away. I’ve got class tonight (and it’s my favorite) so I don’t want to miss it.
Forgot to mention sign language class last night… We had a quiz and I didn’t do so well. It’s funny how some signs if you reason them out you can figure out what they mean. However, if you know ASL, then you’ll know that the sign for ‘pig’ in no way reminds you of what a pig looks like or how it acts. She gave us the phone number for the ASL tutor. I just might get in touch with her. I don’t want this to be the class that destroys my GPA.

$200 for my speeding ticket tomorrow?
[/QUOTE]
I think I will have to take my chances with asking forgiveness and for a PJC to make it disappear. Otherwise, my moment of being just ever so slightly distinctive from a pack of cars all traveling faster than permitted will cost close to $900 in the first year between the ticket itself and the 45% increase to insurance rates.
At least the cop didn’t use the old line of “When you go fishing, you don’t catch all the fish in the lake, now do you?”
Oh, forgot to say - my post-op appointment was good. The replacement disc is right where they left it, and I go back to work next week.
Okay I’ll bite. Why “giggity”?
it’s your “middle name” (2-gig-ch1) and a reference to Family Guy. I’m sure the others will chime in with other suggestions.
And because it’s shorter and easier than “satellite truck guy.”
Guess we could call him “uplink”
It is Wednesday which is the downhill slope to the weekend! Whoohoo! and that is about I have to say today.
Sorry for the sick doggio. I suppose rest and fluids is out of the question?
Well, yesterday wasn’t exactly normal. I always rush home so I can be there by 4 when the bus drops my kid off a block down from our house. So she and I were walking back towards our place and all of a sudden there’s two ‘explosions’, we look up and the school bus that had delivered just ahead of my daughter’s goes speeding past our house, through a stop sign intersection, plows into the center median sending dirt, plants and a huge boulder skyward, goes partially airborne and careens into my across street neighbor’s yard, knocks over a large magnolia tree and just veers away from the kitchen window where his wife and son are watching the whole thing unfold.
My daughter and I ran up but even though it only happened 40 yards away a bunch of people, my wife included, had already descended on the accident having heard the ‘explosions’ themselves. We quickly made sure the kids were okay, crying but otherwise unhurt (buncha whiners :)), and a half dozen phones are calling 911. I can PM cell pics if anyone wants ‘em. Oh, the ‘explosions’? Two brick mailboxes she ran over at about 35 mph… annihliated. The driver said the accelerator stuck and she weaved back and forth across the street trying to stop. Um…. Kick it into neutral? Turn off the key?
As you might expect, a wrecked schoolbus in a front yard with debris everywhere, police, ambulances and firetruck drew quite the crowd.
Yea for Wednesday.
My medieval group name was Tugig, which worked. Hell it’s all short for 2 gigahertz, channel 1 minus offset horizontal polarity.
Tugig. I like it! Welcome to our screwy little corner of the Dope!
(((roo))) I don’t really have anything the others haven’t said. Just that you’re in my thoughts & prayers…
Loo . Holy carp. Glad no one was hurt!
doggio. Feel better!
Going to the sto’ today. Fun times. L
yikes, lieu! even stomping the brakes would have been a better choice, even though it would wreck the transmission; bet it turns out the driver was UI.
Hooray for new babies!!!
Congratulations to Mom and Dad, little Gnat!
What great names!
