Bid for a SDMB Mods services for a day!

This is an auction to buy my services, as mod, for a day.

I could really use the money, so the highest bidder will win me doing THEIR bidding for a day.

Things that the winner will get are:
–Me banning anyone who they want (please, no talk about who you’d choose in this thread, though…that will be for the winner only, whoever they might be).
–Me preforming any mod actions they ask for, such as closing topics or warning others for things.
–Me pretty much doing anything they tell me to do for an entire day. It will be like I’m their slave for 24 hours. Control me. Use me. Abuse me at your will. Force me to do what you command!

The bidding will start at THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS…and two cents.

i bid infinity plus one dollar.

I don’t have $300.02, but I’ll bid most of a mouse that was a step too slow this morning…

I’dpay $301 to ban Ed and see what happens. But it has to be a guaranteed permaban.

Ironed shirts and clean windows? I’m in!

  • You’re paying travel expenses, right?

Only a FOOL would bid for this.

I revise my bid to five thousand quatloos.

Are the services you’re willing to provide only in the context of the SDMB, or could I, say, have you paint my living room.

Also, you’re a girl, right? I ask merely for information.

If you’ll put on a dress and sing Over the Rainbow to my cat, I’ll bet infinity plus two dollars.

Outrageous! I wouldn’t go a penny over $300.01!

What’s htis?

I’ll bid $300.00

Sorry, no, not today. On the Mayan calendar, today’s date is 13 baktun, 0 katun, 4 tun, 6 uinal, 2 k’in. No one places bids for services on such a day. And on the Aztec calendar today is Ehecatl (the day of Wind), governed by Quetzalcoatl as its provider of tonalli (Shadow Soul) life energy. According to Aztec lore, Ehecatl is a bad day for working with others. You really picked a bad day for this.

I’ll bid a buck two ninety eight.

Aw, I missed this. Looks like fun. I’m guessing the bidding was just for April 1,though…

Would I have to declare this on next year’s taxes?

I bid 500 quatloos on the newcomer.

Depends.

Generally the person receiving the money has to report income, not the person paying it.

But if you use them as a household employee and pay $2000 or more, you’ll have to withhold and remit Social Security. pay the employer’s share of SS, pay FUTA, and issue a W-2. Your state may have additional requirements.

If you have him perform services in connection with your business, you may have to issue a Form 1099-MISC if the amount is over $600. (1099-MISC is never issued for personal services.)
