He gets big points for the choke up–he came across more human than she is by a long shot.
I think she’s done fine in appearance: she’s been forceful, assertive, and fluent as long as it’s something she’s practiced.
She does not show an ability to wing it; she looks for a talking point with the buzzword and then forcefully asserts it whether it’s relevant or not.
Obviously, politically, I think Biden kicked her ass six ways from Sunday on knowledge. That may or may not play with the voters.

I think he was coached not to take too obvious advantage of her, so he wouldn’t look mean.

I still like McCain, I don’t think we can afford him as President now, but I still like him. I do not like Palin at all. I don’t like one thing about her. She actually scares me. She would be worse than Bush if McCain died.
One more note on McCain, if he had won in 2000, I think we would be far better off today than what 8 years of Bush/Cheney has brought us. The problem is Bush/Cheney have hurt this country so much that no major Republican can fix what is currently wrong with it.
So, how is Palin’s family diverse, anyway?
Linda Lingle, Republican Governor of Hawai’i and both the first woman and first Jew to hold the office. Just one of the many Republican women that McCain could’ve chose over Palin.

I would have responded to Palin a lot better if she’d dropped the folksy talk – kinda, sorta, gonna.

Biden has been very good. I think he needed to find his feet at first. As the debate went on, he seemed more comfortable.
Palin was inconsistent and again, cannot speak in depth to any important issue. As it went on, she went into full commercial mode and is basically like an anchor, spouting sound bytes.
I thought what she said WAS her closing statement–and now she’s “explaining” away her fuck up on Couric? God, she’s boring. Oops–she had more time and now is filling it with Ronald Reagan. I’ll puke soon.
