Pretend you woke up after eight years: what’s a “surge”, mountains in Afganistan and Pakistan… we’ve gotta find who, where’s Al Gore, Wall Street, is this, like, another .com bubble?
He lost his first wife in a car accident and one kid ,I think, The other 2 kids were severely injured. It was a rough time.
I have to say that choke-up really got to me. My late father couldn’t talk about my brother and my mom, both of whom he outlived by decades, without getting that same exact break in his voice. I already knew Biden is a solid, extremely knowledgable politician with years and years of public service. It’s helpful to see the loving human being inside as well.
Palin, on the other hand, did okay, I can’t deny that. But her constant folksy, facile talking points make me sick.
I would say ploy.
I *used *to think McCain wasn’t someone who always conformed. Then he ran for president.

I appreciate the chance to vent here during this debate. I might’ve burst a blood vessel otherwise.
I think Biden did far better on the final sum up. Overall he did very well and she did not make any huge mistakes.

I was too busy crying - what did Biden say on the topic of ‘Maverick’?
I haven’t watched the whole debate, but I watched the global warming section and the first half of foreign policy (I’m Tivoing it, I’ll watch the rest later.) I didn’t hear a SINGLE coherent sentence from Palin, or any indication that she had a clue what she was talking about. I can’t understand how ANYONE can think she’s winning this. She is reciting talking points…if the question doesn’t fit into what she’s rehearsed, she just goes onto something she has rehearsed…it makes her sound vapid.
Biden clearly knows what the hell is going on in the world, and has ideas about what will work and what won’t…based on experience. She has nothing. Nothing but a random string of buzzwords rearranged 8 different ways in the same 2 minute span, hoping to confuse the hell out of the average voter and make them think she has a clue. I weep for the people who buy her crap.
Palin’s family is very diverse.
There are people of all sexes in her family.
Her family covers a wide range of ages, heights and weights.
Some of her family members have long hair, some have shorter hair.
And, many of her family members have completely different first names than others.
They are truly a microcosm of America, doncha know.
She did better than I thought she would, based on what I’d heard.
Just how folksy is America these days?

She makes my skin crawl for the most part. But I did think she was real when she was talking about gay marriage, she looked uncomfortable, but defiant. At least she stood up for her beliefs and went off the rehearsed crap.
