Be interesting to see how Factcheck.org calls the debate and the various exaggerations. I really wish it was possible for them to scroll answers at the bottom of the screen when one or the other candidate starts playing fast and loose with the facts…
Especially since she didn’t even acknowledge it and just went back into one of her canned talking points. It looked bad. I thought that was where Biden really ran away with it.
Yeah. That whole back and forth, starting with the “I know what it’s like” and ending with the “He’s no maverick,” was where Joe Biden won. Too bad only 5 people were still watching at that point.
I think Biden came off as knowledgeable, experienced and sensitive.
I think Palen came off as waaaay too folksy and cute. Too many winks. Maybe it’s just because I’m from Missouri and we don’t like be patronized, but I don’t like someone winkin’ at me. Dontchaknow.
Not that folksy. Especially not when we’re trying to impress people. I’m reminded of that Andy Griffith movie, A Face in the Crowd. I’d love for someone to turn on a mike when Palin doesn’t think people are listening.
Looks like a clear Biden win to me. No surprise there… Sarah did much better than I expected, but she had no depth. Lots of prepared speeches, no real content.
They really should get involved on the debate broadcasts. The factcheck crawl would be much better than the various lines CNN uses.
Overall, both did better than expected. Sarah Palin started really strong but got a little shakier as the night went. Biden? Not as looney as advertised. Came off well if a little of a political wonk. Got some good shots in.
And I’d also like a quote on the maverick shootdown. Missed it while getting a pork brine going.
