Leonard finds himself drawn towards a comely comic book illustrator. Meanwhile, Sheldon tries to scare the gang for Halloween.
For my money (maybe because I’m a Dirty Old Man at heart) the best line of the season is: [paraphrase] “If the tongue stud freaks you out you’re going to have a real surprise in a little while,” or words to that effect.
Sheldon: “Oh, how can I be so stu-U-u-U-u-U-u-U-u-U-u-U-u-U-u-U-u-U-u-U-u-U-u-U-u . . .”
I can’t wait for Priya to finally go away. I never liked her. I hope this is the beginning of that.
Alice (that makes more sense the penis), the girl Leonard met in the comic book store…I couldn’t figure out where I knew her from. I knew I recognized her from something. After thinking about it for a while I remembered that not only did I recognize her from something, but when she was on the other show (that I couldn’t remember) I had the exact same thought…that I knew her from something else and I couldn’t place it.
She was/is Portia Bellefleur from True Blood. When she was on that show, I had to look her up and I finally realized I knew her from the Naked Man episode of How I Met Your Mother. I see she was also in a handful of episodes of Dexter, but I don’t remember her from that…Actually looking at the pictures, she’s showed with Quinn. I think she was the IA person that he was dating. But when she was on that, I don’t recall recognizing her from anything else…nor do I think of her in that role when I see her on other shows. But BBT, HIMYM and True Blood go together in my head for some reason WRT to her.
In Dexter, she was a reporter who was dating Quinn. She turned out to be
Trinity’s daughter
As to the OP: I liked the episode and hope this is the beginning of the end of Priya. Especially loved that Sheldon finally got his vengeance.
“You may be from Texas, but I’m from New Jersey.”
Bye-bye Priya, yea!
The tongue-stud line was hilarious.
The come-on in the comic book store was so abrupt and silly that I was very confident that it was going to ultimately be some part of a clever Sheldon revenge plot (with his bad revenge attempts just cover while it worked).
What was Stewart’s line? - “Did you just pick up a woman in a comic-book store? Because if you did, your picture is going up there on the Wall Of Heroes.”
Yeah, that didn’t ring true at all.
As has been mentioned, for guys who whine about not getting laid, these guys get laid (or pass on the opportunity) an awful lot.
I had written the rest of the episode from that point where the comic book girl was some devious Sheldon revenge plot but in the process he, of course, takes it too far and it ends up damaging the Leonard-Priya relationship.
Got to the same place, just in a less interesting way.
Also, they’ve now officially beat the Bernadette-becoming-Mrs. Wolowitz thing to death at least twice. Time to move on.
I did like that while you could surprise Sheldon into a coma, you couldn’t really scare him into it with demonstrations of the paranormal since (somewhat unstated) his confidence in the physical rules of the universe wouldn’t allow taking any of it seriously.
After the World Series, I tuned into Craig Ferguson last night as Raj was a guest.
I think there is a lot of love for Craig Ferguson on the Dope and I just don’t understand it. I think he is terrible and turned it off before Raj came out to be interviewed.
When he is interested in the guest (which isn’t always), I think his interview segments are the best on TV because he actually has a conversation instead of just providing set ups for anecdotes from the pre-interview.
When he’s not interested, it can be pretty bad. I love the that the monologue isn’t entirely scripted and isn’t just a string of set ups and punchlines about newspaper headlines. But this does mean that when he misses, he really misses.
Finally, I absolutely love that he’s willing to just do weird things. France Week was mostly awful but I love that he did it. The puppet episode was great. The two-chair hour long interview showed what I think he should be doing instead and bringing on the moral philosopher wasn’t a great interview but again it is great that he did it just because he was interested.
Stewart really crashed and burned with the hot girl! Remember when he was actually kind of smooth, in a “comic book nerd” kind of way? He got himself a couple of dates with Penny, for crying out loud!
On the other hand I wouldn’t have expected Alice to have been a setup by Sheldon. In the past he’s shown himself to be terribly inadequate at that sort of thing. He isn’t even able to successfully trash talk. (Witness his pathetic attempt at “Your mother” jokes in the episode with the battling robots.)
maybe the best line.
Though, “We all won” was pretty good too.
True, which is why I figured it would be a plan that proved successful, but would fail for not actually being funny (not that, in real life, I find jumping out at people all that funny a practical joke) and simply mean.
still really freaking hate leonard’s character.
how delusional was he that he still thinks he’s a good guy?
We all think we’re good guys.
am i sociopathic if i recognize that i’m doing wrong and end up doing it anyway?
