I am hoping that Priya is gone for good. The actress that plays her is gorgeous, but I don’t like the character at all anymore.
You have to admit it was kinda fun when she lawyered Sheldon.
Preach it, Brother!
Anyway, you can argue that Leonard was wrong for even putting himself into a situation that might lead to sex… and if his girlfriend were local that would be a valid point.
But, he’s in an ill-defined long-distance relationship with a girl he hasn’t seen in – I’m not sure how long – months, maybe? That’s gotta be pretty damn frustating. Then he’s tempted by this hot chick who practically throws herself at him, and he doesn’t go through with it. I’d say that’s being a good guy in my book. (For all the good it did him!)
I liked ths episode. The Leonard plot was indeed entirely predictable, but it was nicely character-driven. I enjoyed the scene when he sought advice from Penny. And there were enough laughs in the Sheldon/Halloween story to make up for any of the other plot’s shortcomings.
I agree, except his feeble and deplorable attempt at justifying it to the girl. He was being a good guy to Priya, but a total dickwad to Alice.
Stewart is funny as a more-pathetic geek than the guys, but I don’t like how his character started off as a less-pathetic version of them. He was smooth picking up Penny, but nearly Raj-like talking to Alice? Maybe his self-confidence is tied to the financial well-being of his shop.
Yes, that was funny! Initially, I actually did like the character; but at this point, I’m tired of her, and think that she needs to make her exit from the show.
Preferably the same way as Antigonus in The Winter’s Tale.
I’m a good guy and I would have slept her.
If Leonard was really a man of honor…
She offered her honor. He honored her offer. All night long it was on her, off her, on her, off her…
If I were in Leonard’s place they’d have to rename the show “The Big Bang Implementation.”
But then I would have dumped Priya back when she moved back to India without discussing it and refused to treat me as a serious boyfriend vis a vis her parents.
Enjoy,
Steven
This was the first episode this year to make me laugh out loud. There were several really good bits.
Off the topic of this particular episode, but…
Does Simon Helberg (Wolowitz) wear a toupee? I’m assuming he does as Wolowitz since few people would be willing to sport that bowl cut, but I saw him on a talk show recently and his “own” hair doesn’t look any more natural. Here’s a couple of pics of him when he’s not in character: rug or not a rug?
She was also a victim-of-the-week in Criminal Minds. She lived, and flirted with Reid. (“I got kidnapped by a serial killer so my insurance company threw in some free dental X-Rays.”)
She was also on the Vampire Diaries, I think.
Did the laugh track really bother anyone else?
Truly. Priya’s been rather of a bitch since the beginning, and treats Leonard like crap. It’s a shame his basic character trait is a basic lack of self-esteem, or he would have dumped her long ago.
I do hope that Alice comes back, because she is a very attractive young woman, and I enjoy looking at attractive young women.
especially since the whole trip was a result of someone making a rip-off of his show. (instead of a lawsuit)
she has had sex with him when the warp drives were set to full power. that would suggest kinky, toying with him, geeky or serious. i think some ambiguity in here character has been introduced to go a number of directions.
That whole thing seems out of character for Leonard to me. Why did he even call her, let alone meet up with her? Was he fully intending to cheat on his girlfriend?
Why not? She was into Comic Books and Leonard is short and scrawny but otherwise a decent looking guy. I also got the impression she was recently hurt in a relationship and decided a geeky nerd would treat her right, only to be disappointed.
I’m gonna be alone on this but I thought it wasn’t a very good episode.
It was pretty funny yeah but I think that it’s way out of character for Leonard to willingly make out with a girl that isn’t his girlfriend, and I think that the entire episode was just an excuse to write Priya off…but be really stupid about it.
Not even counting Leonard’s half of the situation the whole “Oh btw I slept with my ex boyfriend” thing is just an unoriginal and rushed way to just move the plot.
Not original, not funny, and breaching a character to do it.
Speaking of tongues, I thought this exchange was funny as hell:
Penny: Did you tell her about Priya?
Leonard: Well, I was gonna, but there were too many tongues in my mouth.
If you’re thinking of the conversation Leonard had with Priya at the end when she says, “Well it’s not a competition,” his response is actually, “Ohhh, yeah it is, and you won.” Which is even funnier, in my opinion.
