Was it just me or was Sheldon turning into a felinophile just plain bizarre and out of character? :dubious: Cats! I can think of a bunch of other animals Sheldon’d tolerate before cats. Sheldon cleaning a litterbox? Not going to happen.
**God help us if we start playing Counter-Factuals over in the game room. **
In other news, THIS was the show I remember. It seems I might have been a tad too hasty calling this show plateaued.
they are also aloof and feel superior to other creatures just like he does.
that is why his mom thought his bedroom stank.
i’m not a fan, watched a few shows and don’t pay close attention.
i didn’t make a list of cat’s names. though i don’t recall a Schrödinger and there were cats who were named after applied physicists. what’s up with that? applied physicists have the names the audience would recognize but he didn’t then make a crack at that fact.
I don’t think it could be out of character considering we’ve never seen him lose a ‘girlfriend’ before. Maybe they’re trying to take him down a notch or two, make him less of a caricature of himself.
“Women - can’t live with 'em, can’t successfully refute their hypotheses.” This is why I love this show so much.
Wasn’t that the point? The break-up made him act in a bizarre manner.
The show down between Amy and Sheldon was hilarious! I was HOWLING at that!
The Amy Farah Fowler charector is just…SO DEAD ON Aspie! Not just nerdy. Textbook Asperger’s Syndrome!
I LOVED how she was wearing stripes with plaids.
Loved the game Shamy invented.
God help us if we DON’T! I may start checking the game room just to check for this! Granted, I don’t really buy that their lines of reasoning could have been that simpatico, but all is forgiven in the name of humor.
Yeah, he definitely would be in tune with the prissiness aspect of their personality. OTOH he might not feel in tune with their chaotic aspects…
Also, he would NOT be a fan of their hygiene. Unless he potty trained them.
Also I have to say, holy shit, those were well trained stage cats. (Or they got a lot of overtime in extra takes).
They were named after members of the Manhattan Project, except for Zazzy, who was especially exuberant.
I don’t know, I always loved the show but it seems to me that it has jumped the shark. It seems to me that the cast is phoning it in and the writers aren’t really trying that hard anymore. Whatever it once had, I can’t put my finger on but it isn’t there anymore.
Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur
Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr, purr, purr…
I wish I could watch this show online somewhere. Hulu doesn’t have it, I don’t have a DVR…sigh.
Yeah, no kidding. I had assumed I could watch it on CBS’s website, since I catch up on every other CBS show that way if I happen to miss an episode. But alas, no joy. I intended to watch it online since my DVR is recording two other things at that time, but after the first week I was forced to torrent the first episode. Annoying.
With NBC putting all their shows on Free On Demand, I switched the DVR to record Big Bang Theory and now watch Community on FOD. (I also record Bones because I shamelessly have no taste.)
I kept waiting for Sheldon’s mom to say, “Well, bless your heart!”
OK this was a great episode and a memorable tone too. This episode crossed the line, where it proved Sheldon could carry a show on his own. It’s also memorable as you can see how well Jim Parson gets on with those cats. He gets on with them like only a gay man could
I am actually liking Mayim Bialik, as Amy. She’s doing a good job and it was clever of the writers to make it so Sheldon isn’t prepared to compete with Amy, the way he did with Leslie Winkle when she topped him.
Laurie Metcalf also proves herself again. I love this lady, she is one of the best “second bananas” in all of televison history. Someone needs to do something with her talent as it’s going wasted.
I loved this episode from start to finish, it was one of the best of the series.
I was almost questioning whether that was Laurie Metcalf. Her face looks different, not older but plastic surgeryish.
Funny episode but I don’t buy the Sheldon character getting all the cats either. Can you imagine what he would do if Leonard wanted a cat? He’d loudly protest and bring up an obscure clause in the roommate agreement. Doesn’t Leonard have access to that document?
I love how Sheldon’s mothr got “Shamy” back together. In some ways Sheldon is a typical guy–tell him not to do something and he’ll do it.
Doesn’t he usually get a bit(more) strange when he gets emotionally overwhelmed? It’s just his heavily repressed emotions escaping through different channels.
Wolowicz from The Big Bang made a guest appearance on the season finale of “The Guild” web series which aired this today. Nice to see the smart, geeky comedies converging like that.
Oh, link to the guild episode in question. Wolowicz appears in episode 12 Season 4, but it’s worth starting at the beginning and going forward.
