Jun’s cleaning is a control thing. Whatever…
I’m confused by the “what would they do without alcohol for a week” comment. From what I’ve seen none of them drink anyway. I’m new to this show so maybe I’m just not seeing it. I’ve been wishing they would drink.
The pedicure thing doesn’t bother me. What else is there to do?
I suppose I agree with you about Jun’s belly hanging over her swimsuit bottoms. She should go for a one-piece. That’s if you buy into the “every body must be presentable” theory though. In my fantasy world it would be perfectly fine.
I’m glad Dana put up who she did. It shakes things up. Jack isn’t a wacko but he is out of place in that group. I’m betting he’ll be voted out.
Can someone explain the veto thing to me? What happens if someone uses their veto? Does the HOH get to nominate someone else or does the veto person get to do it?
The person can veto whoever he wants (including himself if he’s on the block) and then the HOH has to put up someone else. I’m not sure, though, if the HOH can put up whoever made the veto.
No, HOH can’t put up the Veto user.
Going back to the eviction show (since I missed it and didn’t know who got the boot until last night), when are people going to learn that putting up a “safe” bet is not safe! Every season (well, maybe not season 1), people try to get rid of a specific person by putting them up against someone who is too popular to be voted out. And inevitably that person walks out the door.
I think Dana did the right thing (or at least the interesting thing) to put Alison against Jack. Putting Nathan up would have meant that Jack was gone, since I think Nathan is more popular with the ladies. Alison and Jack seem to have about the same influence or popularity, so it should be a really interesting week. Now Nathan vs. Jun would have been a real match-up.
Well it just seems to me that every time I turn around, SOMEBODY has an an alcoholic drink in their hands. Perhaps I am wrong though. They don’t seem to be as big a set of boozers as some of the past hamsters, but they still drink. I think if you took the alcohol away, they’d whine and bitch until they got it back.
Straight guys never get pedicures (IMO) unless they are forced into it. I think Jun’s giving Nate a pedi was a way of controlling him for a little while but also flirting with him a little bit. She’s trying to play both sides against the middle, but she’s gonna get burned.
I know if Dana hadn’t won HOH this week, she would’ve been up on the block.

Power of Veto spoiler:
Nate got the veto, and has been telling everyone he’s not going to use it. Everyone except Alison, because he has some sort of secret alliance with her, and he’s going to use it.
Dana has said that if Nathan uses the veto, she’s going to put up Dave. Noooooo!
Thanks to The Wrong Girl and Diogenes the Cynic - I love reading the spoilers.
Nathan keeps making all these sleazy little remarks about how she better better be “nice” to him for “saving her ass.”
They were drunk last night and he was trying to put his hand down her shirt. She stopped him but she kept laying all over him. Whatever happened to that jealous boyfriend she was supposed to have?
I think Nathan is trying to use the POV to get her to have sex with him. The guy is just nauseating with his constant sexual come-ons and his groping of all the women.
If he does use the veto, Dana has said she’ll put up Dave and Dave probably wouldn’t be a good enemy to have in the house. I’m betting that Nathan chickens out and leaves Ali on the block…at least I hope he does.
From reading some recaps this morning, it is my understanding that…
Nathan told Allison and Dave that he plans to use the Veto to take Allison off the block. Dana will then put up Dave, and what’s left of the Original 8 Alliance will vote Jack off. They like him, but “he’s old”. Strategically speaking, it’s a good idea because Allison is an idiot who has never won anything, and Jack is scary-smart, though not great at the competitions. But dammit, I like Jack!!!
OK I haven’t read most of the thread for fear of spoilers. We over here have just had a catch up wkend after BB4UK ended(We get UK cable over in Ireland). The most up to date show was Dana nominating Jack and Alison. Is this much behind the States? The live feed started last night and we have a show on Wed. and eviction show on Thurs. and a weekly round up on Sat.
BB4UK was very very boring. BB4USA is not. It’s great and very very different. It’s basically survivor in a house. Talking about nominations is not allowed in the UK show and the public vote for eviction. No HoH(except for one week).
I’m really enjoying the show and look forward to weeks and weeks of fun. So how far am I behind. Is it safe for me to read the end of the thread or should I dodge it?
You are right where we are. The show you mention aired in the USA on Friday night. (We get a new show Tuesday and and elimination show on Wednesday.)
Excellent, only one day behind.
Cheers
Diogenes– That’s what I was wondering. What happened to the boyfriend she was so freaking worried about? And I hope they don’t vote Jack out because he’s ‘old’ as they put it. Dude. They’re going to be old someday even if they don’t think so right now. Stupid perfect body idiots.

Has there been any word on how the Big Bro production staff is going to handle the necessary calendar change of evictions since Scott was removed at the beginning of the show? At some point, wouldn’t they have to have a week with no evictions?
I have a good reason for asking this. Dave and Jack are my favorites so I would be pretty happy to see Julie come on screen and tell everyone that this week was just pretend and neither is going home. Of course, that won’t happen, but it would seem like they will need a schedule adjustment at some point.
That would be beautiful, if it turned out there were no evictions this week.
Dana & the Stooges have made such a production out of generously offering & then retracting various deals to Dave to LET him stay, it would be wonderful to watch the expressions on their faces as they find out it was all for naught. Still, Dana has also lamented the fact that she chose the wrong two people (Jack & Alison instead of Nathan & Alison), so she could be relieved if that happened, which I wouldn’t like at all because Dana needs to be unhappy! Always!
And Slainte, Nate did use the Veto. He saved Alison, Dana put up Dave.
