I thought his best role was in Rivers Edge. He is anything but a stoner and plays his role straight. He was amazing.
Best Crispin Glover performance too, man.
Heresy!
The original B&T is one of the best thought out time travel movies ever made.
I want this to be good but I am not getting my hopes up
when has a sequel released this many years later not disappointed?
Mad Max Fury Road?
Oh man. Crispin sure chewed some scenery…and then went all bulimic with it. If he had gotten the accent right I would have enjoyed it more. The setting was a blue collar NoCal town, not the OC.
Love the first two movies–this trailer made me cringe.
So now it’s just one song that will unite the world? Will Wyld Stallyn’s entire catalog be celebrated?
Well, just so long as my bowling score still goes way up and my mini golf score goes way down.
I really wanted to like Jay and Silent Bob Reboot too. But it just wasn’t there. And I have the same feeling about Bill and Ted: Face the Music.
Sometimes people need to realize the moment has passed.
I can’t believe there is enough money that exists on this planet to convince Keanu Reeves to do another Bill and Ted.
That other guy I get, his career went nowhere. (that I know of)
I think it looks good, even from just this teaser, but then I thought the same about Dumb and Dumber To’s trailer, and though that turned out to be fine I guess, it felt a bit tired. Hopefully this will work out to be good fun.
I liked the evil Bill & Ted robots, but I found the character of Station to be unappealing and irritating.
Goldeneye?
While 2010 isn’t the classic that 2001 is, I think it is a perfectly fine movie (and arguably a better “movie” while not as good “theatrical experience”)
I’ve heard generally positive reactions to “Blade Runner 2049”
Brian
I don’t think he’s doing it for the money. He’s been talking about making a sequel for years now. According to Wikipedia, the budget is only 25 Million. He doesn’t seem to be in the biz for money anymore. Apparently he only made a few million off John Wick 1 and 2.
I have no complaints about “Rocky Balboa”.
A couple things in this one’s favor:
- Directed by the same guy who did Galaxy Quest
- Sames writers as the first two. I think the biggest problem with most comedy sequels is that they tend to be just a rehash of the first one. Bogus Journey was pretty different from Excellent Adventure, so I hope this one will be just as different.
I have not counted the years, but these were certainly close:
Mad Max 4
Blade Runner 2049
Evil Dead TV show(years later and was TV, but was like a sequel)
Rambo IV (the best one!)
Split
Sometimes, it works. I also liked, but accept the criticism of:
Star Wars Episode VII (8 and 9 much less so)
Indiana Jones 4 - (the hate has always surprised me)
However, you are quite right that it usually is a bad idea. I think the nice thing with Bill and Ted is that neither of the first two are outrageously amazing. Cute, fun, very charming. I just hope this one is like those…
Then burn me at the stake with Miss of Arc! Those first 2 movies were excruciatingly bad.
My wife and I went to the first on a “date night”, my pick. Needless to say I didn’t get any that night.
I have a bad feeling about this.
